Secret Maps and Bus rides!

We're having a day out today!!

So we headed up to the bus stop and hopped onto a bus.....

.....and got off here!

We're getting a train somewhere!!

We went over the Balcombe viaduct

and eventually came into London!!!

We got into Blackfriars Station...

....but we didn't get off!!

We got off here instead!!!

We're going to see an expedition!!!!

They've got a fancy tree up here.....

It moves!!!  Can you tell?!?!  (sorry it's sideways.... I blame the cameraman)

We walked down the parade of shops with lots of decorations in

And used the facilities..... we left them a floppy disc!!

And then looked at the Fortnum & Mason windows.

They got a fox!!

The other window had a reindeer in it!!

Then we headed out onto the Euston Road.

We're going to the British Library!!

Their tree's up too!

We're going to see the Secret Maps expedition!

We had to wait a bit for our entry time but that's OK.

We used the facilities here too and left them a CD!

Oh that's odd.... wonder what it is.....?

After a good look around the gift shop/bookshop it was time to go in!

OOOoooo!!

That's an Old Enigma Machine from world war 2!!!  German submarines used those  to send coded messages, that were eventually decoded by a team of codebreakers at Bletchley Park headed by Alan Turing!  We've been past his house in Teddington on the bus!!!

And that's a map drawn by Lawrence of Arabia!!!  He was a spy!!  Oh Bob T Bear would love all this, he probably knows all about this stuff being a spy himself!!

They used to draw map on parachite silk that later got turned unto underwear!!!  Bob would love it here, I tell you!!!

Oh wow!!!  That's a quilted map!!!

And that's Google Earth!!

That was seriously interesting!!!  

We were starving hungry by now so we went off to find somewhere for lunch.

Oooo that's interesting....

We were going to try the fish & chip place nearby but they're now closed for Christmas, so we decided to come here instead.... The Fig & Walnut mediterranean restaurant.

We seriously perused the menu - essentially it's Turkish!!  We love Turkish!!

We got a fizzy drink....

And a chicken shish with rice and a salad!!  It was YUMM!

Afterwards we headed off for the next part of the days' expedition!

We left a floppy disc here

And a CD here!!

And when we got back to the Euston Road, we went this way

We're getting a bus somewhere!!

Ooo there's the Telecom Tower over there!

BUS BINGO!!!  We got the 68!!

They got a CD!

And we're off!

We got off at Aldwych and had to find another bus stop for the next bus!!

BUS BUNGO ALERT!!!  We got the number 23!!

They got a floppy disc!!

We went down Aldwych...

...and saw more decorations!!

Past the Savoy!  That's an art deco building, did you know?!?!

Charing Cross Station had a big christmas tree outside with LED lights on it!

The lights kept changing!!

And we got at Trafalgar Square!

Ooooo!

They've got a Christmas market here!

They've got a Menorah here too!

Then we headed off to the next bus stop.

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We got the 29!!

They got a CD!

The market's HEAVING with people!!

We went past Chinatown.

And got off at Tottenham Court Road Station.

Those are more Christmas lights up there!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We got the 73!!

They got a floppy disc!!

And we got off the bus back where we started the day, at the British Library!!

It's time to go home...!

What a day!!  Oh, is that a Harry Potter scarf behind me?!?!

We stopped in at Fortnums on the way back (we'll show you later!)

And used the facilities... we left them a CD!

That's a very posh tree, you know!

OH!!  Our train gets in in 3 minutes time!!!  How handy is that?!!

And we got a window seat!!

We came into Blackfriars Station.

And then making our way round south London!

And here we are back home!!!

And it's only 3 minutes to wait for our bus!!!

And we hopped off the bus here and whizzed down the road home!!!

We got a tin of Christmas bis kwits..... you have to Dunk these in your tea though.  
They're very yummy too!
