And whales as well!!!  Oh wow!!!  What a trip!!

There's a map - the south shetlands is over on the right hand side....

And field notes too!  Gosh, how exciting!!

Beanie's Big Adventure Part Two

This morning (Friday) we got up early (ish!) for breakfast.  We forgot that the elevator doors here have pictures on them!!  This one's the theater....

And that one's Big Ben!!!

And there's one of the Queen's Guards!!!

Right ho.  Mug of coffee, cornflakes for Andrea, Panno Shoko Lah for me, and a kwussant for String Beanie.  The other kwussant and the apple we'll have to share between us!!

I love panno shoko lah!!   Haven't had one of those for ages..... String's happy too!

After breakfast, we went back to our room to pack up.  We got a view of the British Library from here.

We've had a good visit!!

Right.  That's everything packed up.  Ready to go.....

Love this building!  It's amazing!!

Oh, are we not going home just yet then?!!  We've got more Bus Bingo to do?!?!

Bingo Alert!!!  We're getting the number 30!!!

We tied this CD onto the handrail!

And we got off here at Euston Station!  Now are we getting a train somewhere?

No?!  We're getting another bus?!!

Bingo Alert!!!  We're getting the number 59!!

We tied a CD onto the handrail here...

Right, so where are we going?

We got off at Aldwych - but the next bus stop we needed was suspended because of roadworks so we had to walk quite a ways to the next one.  We found a scary fish on the way!!!

We also spotted an interesting building with green and red bricks on the outside!

Here's our stop!  Which bus, now?!

Bingo Alert!  We're getting bus number 15!!!

They got a floppy disc!

We went past lots of interesting buildings....

And got off here!!!  It's the Tower of London!!!

Oh wow!!

String Beanie's never been here before - although I came here with Tango and Bob and Dilly many years ago.  That was a fun trip!

We got here about 10 in the morning and there's NOBODY HERE!!!

And there's Tower Bridge!

Here's another view of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge

There's the Shard over there..... the Tate Modern is somewhere over there too!

We left the last of our bookcrossing books on a bench here.  The story is set at the Tower of London, which is why we came here!

Coo.  Would be fun to come here again for a proper look round......

We stopped at the gift shop and THERE'S A PENNY SQUISHING MACHINE!!!
LET'S GET SOME!!!

After we did a bit of shopping, we walked back up the hill to get another bus.  We left this CD on a railing.

Here's our stop.  Which bus now?

BINGO ALERT!  We got bus number 78!!

We gave them a floppy disc, too!

And we got off at Liverpool Street Station!!!  We use this station to visit Arnty Helena and Bob and Dilly!!

But we're not doing that today.  We crossed the road and got to another bus stop.  We're getting loads of buses today!!

Bus Bingo Alert!!!!!  Number 8!!!

They got a floppy disc as well.....

Oh wow!  Those are interesting buildings!

We got turfed off the bus at "not quite end of route" at High Holborn.  Andrea had a look at her street map book and said we needed to find Southampton Row.  We think this is it.

We found another interesting building and a pretty little park at the other end!

So we put a CD on the railings!!

A bit further on and we arrived at the British Museum!!

We had a bit of time to spare before lunch, so we had a snoop round our favourite art shop!!!

And then left another floppy disc on the railings at Bedford Square!

And then we walked over to Tas Restaurant for lunch!!!  We're all STARVING!

First of all we were given olives, flat bread and a cheesey dip - we love the cheesey dip!

We ordered a drink.....

And then we had the red lentil soup to start.  Warmed us all up too - it's rather nippy outside today!

Then we had chicken shish with couscous - that was proper nommy!!
We're all stuffed to the gills now!!!

Ah, that's better!!!  Then it's just a short walk down to Tottenham Court Road for the last bus of the trip!!

There's one of those odd zebra crossings!!

And there's our bus stop!  Wonder what one we're getting?

Bingo alert!!!  It's the number 390!!!

And we're off.....

And we got off here at the British Library, over the road from where we started this morning!

And a short walk back to the station - we really are headed home now!

We stopped off at Fortnum & Masons for a spot of shopping (we'll show you later!)

And of course at the Laduree concession!  (we'll show you later!)

And then used the facilities before boarding the train.  We left the very last floppy disc on the back of the door!!!
(Ed's note: this one had been claimed on the blog by the time we'd got home!!!)

The Piano's are Bach!!!  D'you get it??!!     They're BACH!!

We only had a ten minute wait for our train, so that was good!

Here we are arriving at Blackfriars station again!!!

Here, you can see Southwark Cathedral, the roof of Borough Market and then some of the new builds in the background, on the other side of the river.

And here's my favourite view!

You can see the South Downs in the distance there.....

And here we are back at Brighton!!

And there's even a bus waiting for us outside!!!   That doesn't happen often!!

We got off at our stop and then it's just a short walk down here and we're home!

These are the squished pennies we got at the Tower!!  One is the White Tower, one is the raven master, one is a Queen's Guard with a bearskin hat and one is William the conker playing twit from France.

We got some more bingo prizes from the Tower of London - these'll be good!

We got two tubs of coffee from Fortums - we'd nearly run out of posh coffee before we went to London!!  But this should last us a while!

MMMMMMMMmmmmmm!!  Macarons!!!

We got chocolate, coffee, salted caramel, vanilla, orange ginger and pistachio!!
What a fun couple of days!!!!
Exhaustipating..... but fun!
