Beanie's Trip to Holland, Day Four!

Thursday was our last day in Amsterdam!! We had breakfast of cornflakes, coffee....

 and bread and orange marmalade!!! Yum! 

 Then we had to pack up and leave!!! (But not before we had lost letterbox number three somewhere in the youth hostel near reception!! heehee!!)

 It was foggy today, and the park looked eery and quiet....

Bye Bye youth hostel!! It was nice staying there!

On the way, we spotted some geese near a canal! Then I remembered that we still had some cake left over from our train ride the day before!!

So we stopped to feed breakfast to the geese and the moorhens! They really liked it too!

The geese don't like the seagulls much though - they chased away all the gulls that tried to get cake!

On the way to town, we passed a Cheese Shop!! That's my favourite!!

Well, apart from chocolate shops....

Coo, that's really weird, seeing canals in the fog...!

We walked past the Flower Market too!

And then stopped for coffee! Andrea said I could have the biscuit!

We saw this statue outside too!

I don't know what his name is but he's nice!!

I had three wonderful cards to lose on my way, so I tied one to this bicycle!

We said goodbye to the horses too.

And we said goodbye to the scarey lions here!!

RAHHHRRRR!!

And we stopped for lunch! They didn't have French Onion soup today, so we had tomato soup instead with extra French bread and butter.

And then it was time to head up to Centraal Station...

We met Bunny at a Candy store!! He doesn't look very happy - I don't think he's allowed to eat any candy. That's not fair!!

OH!!!

At the train station, we got on another double decker train that went to the Air O'Port!

We found a big Globe of the World at the Air O'Port!! I found some of the places I've visited!

We lost my last card in one of the ladies toilets at the Air O'Port!!!

We had to wait a while before they told us which gate to get out plane from...... so we sat and watched this plane get loaded up!

WHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I love take off!!!

We didn't have any food on the way back because we weren't hungry so we just watched out of the window!

OH! We're back over England again!

I think the passengers all had beans again for dinner last night - there was lots of wind blowing us home fast!!!

Coo - I wonder what part of England that is?

That looks a bit like the Isle of Wight but Andrea said if it was, we've gone too far down the English Channel...... and we'd be landing at Bournemouth Airport instead!

We're turning round now...!!

Well, we landed at Gatwick so it can't have been the Isle of Wight....!

Because Andrea had a biometric passport, we went through the e-control this time. All we had to do was scan her passport, have her eyes looked at by a little machine and then the gates whizzed open and we were allowed back into England!!! We then waved goodbye to the riffraff still standing in line and got an earlier bus back home!!!

It was a lovely evening too.....!

When we got off the coach, we saw this painted onto a Telephone cable box!!!

We're home!!

We had lots of mail waiting for us at home, including A Package from Jerry and Ben and a postcard from Hammie from his mini holiday before we met him in Groningen! That was funny!

Between me and my friends, we all found 16 elastic hair ties in two and a half days!!!

Even Uncle Harry was picking them up for me!!!! Hahahahahaaaa!!!!

We had to mend Ickle Bear's face (his snout had become unstuck) and then I showed him my new mouse, my squished penny and my musical Spending Money that I found!

And best of all I got a new stamp in my passport!

What a lovely holiday!!!

Beanie Box 2

Yesterday I hid Beanie Box number two!!

Here's the clue: In Hove Actually, walk along the seafront until you reach a Leisure Centre named after a Royal who Burned Cakes. Continue along the seafront behind this building going west, and walk past a cafe named after a married female buzzing insect. After that, you'll walk by three benches. The third bench is next to a yellow pole near a Fish Hut. Facing this bench, on the right hand side, behind the nearest bush you'll find this box. It has five treasures in it for the first five finders - but it does not have a stamp pad.

Beanie's Third Letterbox!!

We made another letterbox last week!! This one has ten postcards in it for people to take and use, and it has an orange ink pad in and a hand carved rubber stamp and a little book in it with instructions!!

Andrea says we can take this one to Holland with us and find somewhere to lose it over there! How fun!!!

Beanie Box One

I just lost my first letterbox!!!!! I'm so excited!! I just posted on that letterboxing site with the clue to where it is, here on http://www.spacehijackers.co.uk/letterboxing

You can search for the box under "England" or "Brighton and Hove Actually" and the clue is....

In Hove, find a road named after a Christian prayer building. At one end is a supermarket that has blue and white stripes on its plastic carrier bags. Go in the entrance street and when you reach the carpark, turn right behind the Scottish prayer building. When you reach the back street (Haddington Close) between the carpark and the back of the shops, turn left. The last evergreen tree in the carpark before the metal and wood fence, it's at ground level.

There are five treasures in it for the first five finders!!

Another letterbox box!!

We made another letterboxing box the other day. This one has a self inking rubber stamp in it, some treasure for people to take and a little book for them to put their stamps in!

All set to get hidden!
Andrea's been looking hard for places to hide these!

I nearly Forgot!!!

I nearly forgot to post these!!! With this letterboxing lark, if you go out hunting for one, you're supposed to have you own little book to put the box stamps in and your own rubber stamps to put in the box book. Andrea found an eraser lying behind a bookshelf and decided to carve me a special stamp for Letterboxing!!

My First Letterbox!!

A few days ago, Andrea brought home some little plastic boxes .......! She said that because I liked the idea of Letterboxing so much, we were going to make some to hide!!!

Oh how exciting!!!

We got some little rubber stamps that we don't use (I think that's kinda cheating but we didn't have any erasers to carve up into stamps) and I also found a tiny little ink pad that would fit into a box.

Then we chopped up some paper and made a stamp book!!

We wrote instructions on the front so people know what to do!

We also put some button badges in it so the first five people who find it can have some Buried Treasure to take home!!!

See?! My first letterbox is all finished and ready to hide!!!

Letterboxing??!

I think I might have discovered a new hobby!

On this letterboxing website, it shows you how to make your own letterbox which you can hide somewhere (in a city) and then you can leave a clue on the website to help people find it!!

I think I might make a Special Beanie Mail Art one!! Or lots to leave in different cities when I go on holiday!!! Maybe Hammie and Sullivan know some places we can hide a box??!?!
