A trip to Eastbourne!

We had a day off from work today, and we're going somewhere!!!

We have to get a bus from here.....

And we're off!!!  It's the 12X bus we're on!  

It's a really good ride as well!

There's Satdean Lido, it's an art deco open air swimming pool!

Now we're going through Newhaven!

And now we're in the countryside!

Oooo pretty!

And we got off here at Eastbourne!!

We had to double back a bit because the bus didn't stop at the usual place....

So we walked down here because we're meeting our friend Kirsty!

When she arrived, we walked over to a lovely Italian coffee shop for a quick lunch!

We got a Cappy Chino coffee which was yum!!

And then we got ravioli pasta with a salad that had balsamic vinegar on it - AND IT WAS FABULOUS!!!

We practically licked the plate clean!!

Then we walked down to the Towner gallery which is this stripey building.

We're going to see this at the Moo Vees!!!

LET'S GO IN!!!

Oh how exciting!!

That was a really REALLY good moovie with Timothy Spall and Jennifer Saunders in it!  We had to storm back into town afterwards so Kirsty could get her train home, and we also managed to hop on a bus back to Brighton which arrived the same time as we did!!!

And then we just had to sit back and enjoy the view!!

We went back past Cuckmere Haven - we must come back here one day for a proper look!!

You can just see the cliffs in the background!

This is Newhaven - you can just see the ferry in the distance that goes to Dieppe!

We're coming into Brighton now - ignore the bird poo on the window!!

There's Brighton Pier!

Then we got off here to get the bus back home!

What a fun day out!

We went to Eastbourne!

 

We've got a day off today, and we're going to Eastbourne!!!

Our bus is due in a few minutes....

And we're off!!  We went past an art deco building

And saw some other fancy buildings!!

And there's Saltdean Lido!  That's art deco as well.

And we got off here at Eastbourne Station!!!

We met up with Andrea's friend and went off for a coffee.....

......and lunch, which was absolutely yummy!!

And then we went down to the Towner gallery and cinema!

We're going to see this - it's a french film!!

Let's go in!!!

OOoo this is exciting!

That was a really good movie!!!!  It was about a group of descendants of a lady called Adele, who inherited Adele's house in Normandy.  That contained a painting of Adele by the artist Monet!!  It was really good!

We had to wait a bit for the bus but when it turned up, we got a seat upstairs!

And we're off!

It's really pretty.

And people go kayaking here....

That's Newhaven Harbour - looks like they're loading a ferry to France!

They go to Dieppe from here.

Then we went along the coast road towards Brighton.

It's really pretty here too.

we had to get another bus to bring us home..... what a fun day out!!

A trip to Eastbourne.

We'd heard about an arty fundraiser in Eastbourne and they wanted people to donate postcard sized paintings to exhibit and sell off.  So we painted two postcards, and we're going to take them over to one of the drop off points in Eastbourne today.

So we headed into town and waited for the 12X bus over to Eastbourne.

We got a window seat!

Ooooo!  Art Deco!

There's some proper posh buildings down here you know!

And a windmill!!

That's Saltdean Lido, another art deco building!

WHAT?  WAIT!!!! Stop the bus!!!!  CAYKE!!!

We're going through countryside now.

It's very pretty round here

Except the bushes keep getting in the way of taking a decent picture!!

Ah, that's better!

Aha!!  We got off here at the station!

Right ho, we've got to go down here now.

Ooo that's pretty!  But it's not the drop off point.

Andrea says it's down here somewhere.

Here we are!!!  Sicilia-Qui coffee shop, this is the drop off point!!!

Here is it!!  The official postbox and it already had some postcards in it!

So we popped ours in too!!  

And then stopped for a coffee!!

We were staving hungry by now so we went over the road for a late lunch.

Turkish.

Right ho, let's peruse the menu....

We got a fizzy drink.....

And they brought over some little cracker things with two different dips to nibble on.

The crackers were proper yum!

We ended up getting a creamy chicken with some rice and a salad - house special apparently and it was YUMBO!!!  We'd have this again - way too much of it though but it was really good!!

After we completely stuffed our faces, we decided to head off back home.

So we sauntered off to find the bus stop.

We went upstairs for the return trip.....

We got a fabulous view!!

It's gorgeous countryside round here.....

And that's Cuckmere Haven over there!!

We must come out here for a proper look one day

I'm glad we came out today!

We're in Newhaven now - can you see the ferry in the distance?!?!? That's the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry!

The nose has tipped up to let the cars drive on!

It's interesting round here, eh?!

We went along the coast for a while....

Glorious weather today too...

That was a very fancy hotel but it burnt down a few years ago.  Think part of it will end up demolished....

And we got off here at the last stop.

Then we walked round the corner to get another bus from here.

And got off here......!

And I found a shiny penny on the way home too!!!
