Escaping the drilling.....

Today was supposed to be a normal day at work-at-home.
However, we had the mains gas supply to the building shut off on 7th November because of a leak and today, they were starting work on fixing it, and it's the connection to the actual building.  And just before lunch, the drilling started.  We couldn't cope with having to listen to it while trying to work, so Andrea's boss said OK to have the day off as annual vacation time.
So we did!!

We scooted up to the train station and we're going somewhere!!

That's Millwall football stadium...

And there's the Shard!!

They've got twinkly lights on!!

Well, well.....!

Going over Borough Market here....

And into Blackfriars Bridge.  We didn't get off there though....

We got off here!!!

OH!!  There's a brookstick!

That's a fancy book!

OH!!  They got an Emerald City Christmas tree!!

Oh wow!!

And you can peek inside through little windows!

Oh wow, that's amazing!!

And Fortnums have a new window display!

With Wols and Mice in it!!

We came out onto Euston Road and decided to have lunch next because we're starving hungry!

So we wandered down here....

And came here but they're closed on Monday lunchtimes!
Bugger.....

So we went back the way we came and decided to go somewhere else we really like.

Here's the bus stop we need....

We got the number 30 bus!  We need to do this one end to end one day

And we're off!

We got off here just past Islington Green!

And we came here to Mam and Lez!!

They got funny place mats here

We got a fizzy drink....

And then we got moules mariniere wiv fries!!!
ABSOLUTE YUMBO!!!

After an absolutely FAB lunch, we scooted off again...

And went to see Bob's statue again.

And then went off to the bus stop here.  It's starting to get a bit dark now...

We got the number 30 again

And we're off!

And we got off here back where we started!

But we're not going home just yet....

We're popping in here first.

We bought a ticket for £4 to come and see an expedition!

It's about the Silk Road trade route.

Well, a place called Dunhuang specifically which is in between Tibet and Mongolia, with Samarkand to the left and the wild China seas to the right.

It was only a small expedition but it was really interesting!!!  They found a cave in Dunhuang with old scrolls in in dating back thousands and THOUSANDS of years!!!  Very interesting!

We had a quick look round the gift shop but didn't buy anything this time.

And then it was time to come home!

So went back to the station!

And went past Fortnums again!

It's been fun to get away from the loud drilling noise!

We had to wait a bit for our train but that's OK

We went back over Blackfriars Bridge....

Back over Borough Market

Past Southwark Cathedral

Past Tower Bridge.....

ALLLL the way back to Brighton!!!!

And then had a little walk the other end to get home!!!

Burgers and buses.....

Today we got up early which is weird because it's a bank holiday....

We got to the bus stop just in time to catch a bus!!!

And got to the train station!

Oh!!  People leave jackets and scarves here for people who don't have one so they can take one if they need it.  That's cool!

Our train was ready waiting for us when we got there and we got a window seat!!!

And we left a floppy disc on the hand rail!!

We're off!!

Hang on, that's the Shard over there!!!

See?!?!

We got to Blackfriars station but we didn't get off here....

We got off here!!

And we saw a dragon in Hamleys!!

And a giant bear!!

They still have lots of bunting up from King C's big party.

We used the facilities and left them a floppy disc.  And washed our paws carefully.

And then headed out onto the Euston Road!  What next Jeeves?

Well we stopped at the bus stop right by the station exit....

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We got the number 91 bus!!

They got a floppy disc too!!

And we're off....

Coo.... that's ..... ummm..... interesting....!

Ooooo!

Oh!  Flowers?!

We went past a park.....

...quite a big park.....

And ended up here!!!  We saw lots of other stuff too, including the Drapery art deco building from another bus ride, but Andrea wasn't quick enough with the camera!!

Anyway, we crossed the road and saw this building!

And spotted this pretty tiled wall!

And then went to this bus stop to get the bus back into town.

And here it is!!

They got this tied to the hand rail!!

On the way back, we saw some more interesting stuff...

We think this looks slightly art deco

They got a big cat propping the door open!!

That's a weird building!!

Oh!  Now this is getting into central London now!!

These are much more interesting......!!!

Oh that's pretty!!

And then we got off here at Aldwych!!!

Next to the Indian Embassy...!

Then we decided to go to lunch and we met a frog on the way!!

Byron Burgers???!!!  We're having lunch at Byron Burgers?!?!?!?!

HURRAAAYYY!!!!  We got a fizzy drink.....

And a "classic" burger with fries!!!

Yum!!

After we stuffed our faces, we walked down to Covent Garden.

.....and had a good snuffle around!  We haven't been here for ages!

They've got oodles of bunting up too, from King C's party.

Snowy the dog!!!  I love Snowy the dog!!

Then we wandered back to the bus stop.....

And found another frog!!

Oh that's pretty.....

Ah, here we are....

And here's our bus!!!

They got a jazzed up floppy disc.....

We went past Tina Turner's theatre.  She was a stonking rock star, she was.

Ooo that's a bit posh.

That's Tavistock Square Gardens, that is.....

And we got off here at Euston Station because we could do with a bit of a walk.

we left one of these on a railing.....

And one of these on another railing!!

And another one of these on ANOTHER railing!!

And we ended up at the British Library!!!

We tied another floppy disc onto another railing.....

And then went into the gift shop for a mooch round.  We found lots of wols.  Expensive wols.

We also saw some Hippopopopotomuseseseseses.  Expensive Hipopopopopotomuseseseses.

But we did buy a few (not so expensive) things (we'll show you later!) and then used the facilities.  They got a jazzed up floppy disc and we washed our paws carefully.

On the way out, we looked at the printing press.

And outside, we tied another floppy disc to a railing!

We wandered up the side of St Pancras Station and all of a sudden a whole HOARD of bikers came raring down the road, some of them doing wheelies!!!!!  They were noisy.

Then we went into a little churchyard round the back of the station and had a little look round and sit down.
We don't know what this is but it's blue.

Guess what?!!  We tied another floppy disc to another railing!!

On the way back to the station we walked past an art deco building!!!

not sure if we've seen it before though...

And then came to this fancy schmancy building!!

Fab innit?!!

And now it's time to go home!!!

We had to wait a little for our next train though.

And this stonker of a dog was waiting for a train too!!!  He was very well behaved but his mouth is very big.  And we're very little.

Anyway, we got our train, and tied the last of our floppy discs to the hand grip.

And we're off!!

Here we are arriving at Blackfriars..... the tide's out!

And now we're going over Borough Market towards London Bridge.

Ahh countryside!!

You can see the South Downs in the distance!!

And we're back!!!

There wasn't going to be a bus for nearly half an hour so we walked down the street a bit and found another bus stop.....

And got a bus which dropped us off here!!!

So.  We got these two greeting cards - we know people who would like these!!!

And we got these two greeting cards.  We know people who would like these!!!!!!

And we got a bookmark.  We know people who would like this!!!

And we got a book.  Andrea thinks her Dad would like to read this.
And that was our day!!!
