It's a bit overcast this morning, but the sun's trying to come out.
Wonder what we're doing today then.....
First we went downstairs for a cooked breakfast and coffee.
We also had some barely toasted toast wiv butter and jam.
And then we headed off somewhere!!
What's today's adventure then?
Well first it was back to the bus stop....
And then another 65 bus!
They got a floppy disc!!
And we're back over Kew Bridge again!
And we got off outside Richmond Station!
We met another monkey!!
We like him!
First of all we went down to Marks and Spencers because they have a food hall and we needed to get a Pick Nick. OH WHAT FUN! Where are we going for our Pick Nick?
Well we headed over to this bus stop....
And got a 419 bus!!
We gave them a floppy disc too!
Lots of terraced houses round here....
Very residential....
And then we got off here at a little park. We're in a place called Mortlake.
We're having our Pick Nick here!!!
Oh! We're on the Thames!!! That's Barnes Railway Bridge down there....
And that's Chiswick Bridge the other way!
We're about half way between Barnes Railway Bridge and Chiswick Bridge, and it'sthe last section of the Oxford Cambridge boat race!!!
We've heard about this, but we've never come to see it!!
We had our pick nick which included prawn sarnies and strawberries and and some mini jaffa caykes and a fizzy drink!! It was fab!
Then lots of other people came too, with party hats and balloons and pick nick blankets and bottles of champagne too!! It was great fun!
We spotted a few little boats going past.
And some RNLI rescue boat people as well
Ooo we're getting excited now!!!
We got the ladies race first - AND HERE THEY COME!!!
(If you look up the women's boat race online, from 17m 50s onwards, there's an aerial shot of the race - on the left hand side you'll see a square park with picnic blankets on it..... that's where we were!!)
After that we had a couple of reserve teams race through....
This was the second reserve team....
AND THEN WE HAD THE MEN'S RACE!!
The tide had come right in by now so the waves were bigger!!
Oh what fun!!! We all went home after that - just as it started to rain!
So it was back to the bus stop
And got the 419 bus back the other way.
past a pretty church
And arrived back at Richmond station again!
Then we had to cross over the road
.....to get another 65 bus!
They got a floppy disc too!!
There's the Pagoda at Kew Gardens!
Don't think we're visiting there this trip.....
Then back over Kew Bridge...
And off the bus here!!!
That's the other side of Kew Gardens!
It's very pretty....
And here we are back at the hotel!
When we got back to our room, we had our apricot tart wiv a cuppa tea
And then we got rubber stamps in our passports!
Later on, we got starving hungry so we went out for dinner
We came back here because we like it!
We had a glass of wine.....
And some hot flatbread - proper nommy stuff this is!
We had chicken shish with an Anatolian yoghurt based sauce and rice. It was yum!
We finished off with a Turkish coffee and some Turkish delight!!
And then headed back to the hotel!
Oh what a fab day! We really enjoyed that!!
It looks yum!!
