Today's a bank holiday so Andrea doesn't have to work. So just before lunch, because the weather was so nice, we decided to get out for the afternoon.
So we hopped on a bus to the station....
Here we are! Where are we going?
Aha! Didn't have to wait long for our train!
Oooo sarnies!!! WIV CHEESE!!!!
We're off!
Ooo there's Battersea Power Station over there!!
We're crossing the Thames!
So what are we going to do today, then?!
We're doing the sculpture trail!!
I've seen this one before but String Beanie hasn't - it's the funny teapot!
Good innit?!
There's all the info about it.
Then, according to the map Andrea had, it's a short walk down here to the next one.
There should be a telephone box around here.
.....somewhere. Couldn't find it though....... and we searched all over the place!
So. We needed to get a bus next.....
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! We got the 148!!!
The stop we needed was closed so we had to get off at Westminster Pier which is mangled with a ton of tourists!!!
We backtracked a bit and found the postbox!!
That's by the Supreme Court..... we've not done anything though.....!
We backtracked a bit more and found another one, a stopwatch!
That's the back of it.
That's by Westminster Abbey
Then we walked back the way we'd come. back past the Supreme Court again.
And then went into Whitehall to get another bus
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the 87!!
We went past Horseguards parade
And then had a bit of a diversion but we ended up here at Trafalgar Square!!
We went past the Sherlock Holmes pub!
Ah, here we are. There should be another one round here somewhere.....
We walked round the whole square and finally found the taxi!! Some little plonker was climbing all over it despite a sign saying don't climb on it and his parents just stood there and watched.
We got all sides of it too....
Then we walked down to the embankment because we'd spotted the next one on the bus on the diversion!!
It's the top hat!!!
We got all sides of this too.....
We saw the Millenium Wheel on the other side of the river.
And then left a floppy disc on the railing!!
We walked back towards Trafalgar Square and went past the KitKat Club there. Do they eat lots of KitKats there?
We had to get another bus next.....
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the number 87!!
And we got off at the last stop, at Aldwych.
There's supposed to be another one round here, a double decker bus one.
We had a proper look round, all over the place.
Round here too.
Could we find it??? NO!!!! So we went back to the bus stop to get another bus!
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the number 26!!
And we're off! Oh this is fun, this is!
We got off at Trafalgar Square again - but we've found that one!!! What are we doing here?
STREET BURGER??!
ICE CREAM!!! It's vanilla icecream in a raspberry chocolate pot and loads of chocolate sauce!
YUMMMM!!!
(it didn't last long...!)
Then we went back to the bus stop for the last bus of the day.
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the number 24!
There's the Houses of Morons Parliament again.
And Big Ben
It's pretty round here....
And then we got off here!
And over the road back to the Station!
Our train was already there waiting for us, too!
And we're off!
Back over the river!
You can see the train's shadow on here!!
And we're back at Brighton!!
Not long for the bus home.....
And we got off at the last stop!
And met Cat on the way home. He was nice!
Er, Sherlock Holmes Pub??? And why have we never popped in there for a pint??
ReplyDeleteAs for not climbing all over car sculptures... is that not 2 mice I see leaving little paw prints all over it?
Excellent adventure though. I always think it's neat that mice like Cat!
And all caught up on Bus Bingo too!
