A Bus Expedition

Today, because the weather was so nice and we haven't had an adventure for MONTHS, we decided to go out after we'd done our morning chores.

So we got a but into town and then a short walk up to the station!

We got our tickets and then we got our train!!!  HURRAH!

We gave them a floppy disc!

And we're off!!!

Love this bit!!

Wonder where we're going.....

Oooo!!  There's the Shard!!

We didn't get off at Blackfriars!!

We got off here!!!

I like that clock!

Fortnums have done their new window decorations!!!

Very Halloween-y!!

And here we are on the Euston Road!!  What are we going to do??

First of all, we went down the road a bit....

And came here for a late lunch!

We got a fizzy drink...

And plaice and chips!!!  We scoffed the lot!

We used the facilities and left them a CD!

And then started on our proper adventure!  We left another floppy disc here

And over the road here too!!

And left a CD here too!

Then it was back to the Euston Road to get a bus from here

We got the number 73!!!!

They got a CD as well.

We went past Kings Cross Station

And through Islington

Oooo

Oh, that's pink!

There's a crow!!  We've been seeing crows a lot lately....

OH!!!  It's an art deco building!!!!

OH WOW!!!

We saw mosaics too!

And a fox!

Oh wow...

That's a cemetery...... but not just ANY cemetery!

It's Abney Park Cemetery, one of the "Magnificent Seven" cemeteries!!!
We'll have to come back and visit!!

Ooo that's posh for a pub!

Finally we got booted off the bus at the end of the route, Stoke Newington Common

It's very residential here, seems quite pleasant.

We saw a little memorial by the park over the road....

We added a CD to it.

Then we went back to the stop we got off at, but this is where the 73 drops off passengers.  It doesn't pick up passengers.

So we walked a bit further up the road....

To this bus stop, to get another 73 back the other way.

All the way to Oxford Circus!!

They got a floppy disc!!

And we're off!

Oooo.....

We saw another murial here too

That's Angel Station there, near Islington Green

The traffic's getting busy here....

Hmm....

That's the Quaker Meeting House....

And that's the Wellcome Collection - we're back on the Euston Road now

That's a hospital!

OOOoooo!!

Oh wow that's pretty!!

We're at Tottenham Court Road Station now!!

And then we reached the other end of the line at Oxford Circus!!

And as per usual, it's crazy mad busy with shoppers!!!

Anyway, we had to make our way to where the bus picks passengers back up...... so we went up Regent Street towards Portland Place (where that churchy looking building is)

And then turned left here towards Cavendish Square.

And we found another manhole cover!!

And there's Cavendish Square!!

And here's our bus stop!!!

That's the one!

And here's our bus back towards Euston Road!!

They got a floppy disc!!

That's John Lewis's on Oxford Street!

And we're getting back onto Tottenham Court Road again!

And saw another muriel!

AHA!!  We're back on the Euston Road!!

.....going through Euston Station bus stops....

And we got off here at the British Library!!  It's time to go home!

Just need to head this way....

We've had lovely weather today, haven't we?!

And here we are ready to go home!!

We popped in here to look at their Halloween stuff - it's a bit disappointing this year because they don't have any creepy hot chocolate drink.  They've got skull chocolates and toffee apple tea bags and fang teeth jelly candy....... but no spooky hot chocolate.

So.  We didn't buy anything..... and we didn't have to wait too long for our train either!

And we got a window seat too!!

They got a floppy disc

We went back through Blackfriars Station - the tide was out and we saw people mudlarking!

Going through this bit is always interesting!

When we got to Gatwick we saw a plane coming in to land!!

See?!?!

You can see our shadow of the train we're on!

And we're back!!

There was a bus waiting for us just about to leave so we ran for it to make sure we got on it!
It's just a short walk home from here!

And we had a pretty sunset too!

When we were at Stoke Newington Common bus stop, somebody had dumped a big bag full of stuff, including a bunch of CDs.  So we snuck a few into our bag to bring home!!
What a fun day....!

    1. I know, but we didn't want to spend £30 on a chocolate toad, or £12 for three chocolate skulls
