Today we had breakfast in the Breakfast room downstairs!! We started with coffee and weetabix.
And followed that with toast and jam!! I like the little pots the jam comes in. Do you think they'd miss one???
Then we walked into town and left a floppy disc on the way!
We left a bookcrossing book here too! That's the last Wild Animus book that we found from the big stash last year!!! Well, apart from the one that we're altering, of course!
Then we decided to go look inside the cathedral!
There was a service going on, so we just snuck in and listened for a bit.
That's the pipe organ! It's amazing!
they got a war memorial thingy inside, so we left one of our poppies on it as well.
I hope they don't mind.
Coo - wish we were allowed in there!
after a while we went back outside for more wandering!
Middle aged spread?!?! Andrea must eat loads of that!!!!!!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAAAA!!
Wonder who St William is.....
There were loads of skulls in Rochester. Lots of shops were selling them.....
We used the facilities in the tourist information place and left them a CD.
James VI stayed here when he abdicated!!! I didn't know he abdicated.... thought that was was Eddie when he met Mrs Simpson.....
OOoo there's a cafe there! Let's go in!!!
Oh wow!!! I like the ceiling!
That's fun!
We got some chocolate cayke but it was rather heavy and ridiculously over-sweet. Didn't like it much. But the coffee was OK.
Then it was off for some more sightseeing!
We went down to the river too!
And we found a lion!
On the way back from the river we found somewhere that Queens Mary and Elizabeth stayed!
And do you see that weathervane?!?!
It's a ship!!!
in one of the shops, we found some shoes that Arnty Bev would like!!!
Then we went up this way....
....to the castle!!
There's the cathedral!!
cool huh?
We found another railing to decorate!!!
And found a wonky building!!! Hope it doesn't fall over.......
By now we were really hungry so we came in here for lunch
PIZZA!!! Hurrah!!!
Then it was back up to the castle. Andrea decided to do some sketching whilst we played tag on the grass!
There's loads of space here, it's brill!!
then we went to find some more railings!
That's a long way up...... we didn't go in because the stairs were all see-through and the railings were see-through and all built on scaffolding..... we don't like stairs like that.
......so we just carried on with our decorating!!!! This place could do with some jazzing up.
We found a big map of the place too. Very interesting.
And we got a higher vantage point of the river too!
We love this old tree though!!!
It's spectacular!
604 AD? That's a long time ago, isn't it?
when we walked down the other end of the high street, we had a bit of a sit down - even the benches are interesting!!!
And then we wandered back to the hotel!
.....leaving CDs on the way!
TA-DAAAHH!!
That's a good view, that is!! We like this room!
Andrea showed us the sketches she did! That's in the cathedral....
....and the rest were of the castle.....
oh, I like that one.....
Then we had a look at our shopping!
We got some funky calligraphy pens, some purple ink, a bag of beads and a pack of playing cards!
Later on we went down to the bar for dinner! We had another small beer!
And a curry with naan bread and a popadom!
Yum!
Then we went and watched the sun go down!
bye.....
....see you later.....
We're completely pooped!!!
