Beanie's Mystery Adventure Trip, Day two

Well, we crawled out of bed this morning and went down for breakfast..... not so toasted toast with orange jam, orange juice and a coffee.  That'll get us started...

Then we went downstairs to meet up with the rest of the gang and decide what we're going to do today.....

We helped Sandy answer some of his fan mail......

Then we all went off to the bus stop down the road!!

We're going to get a number 73 first of all....

We all piled upstairs and got front row seating!!!
Excellent!

Wish they'd install windscreen wipers up here, you know.....

We left a CD on this bus....

And then I drew my self portrait on the window!
Can you tell?!?!

When the bus turned into Oxford Street, we all got off...... and we had to back track a little and go down Charing Cross Road!

OH WOW!  I've not seen that one before!

We had a quick detour into Foyles bookshop.  I found a little notebook that Sandy can use for his passport!!!  He was a bit miffed when he saw mine and realised he didn't have his own!

After that, we went round the corner to Greek Street and found a shop called Minalima and it was all about Harry Potter!!!  Lots of owls in the window too.  Unfortunately it didn't open until 12 noon so we had to scoot off to do something else.

But when we got back to the bus stop, I'd figured out which bus we could get later on to get us back here on the way home!!!  HUZZAH!

There's that Harry Potter play over there!!
We then got a number 29 bus.....

......which dropped us off here at the National Gallery!!!

We went in and did a spot of shopping....

and saw some mosaics!!

Gosh, these are pretty!

And another one!

And then went to see some paintings...

Oh wow!

Andrea said she used to have a jigsaw puzzle of this painting and it was really difficult to do!

Oh wow!!

Now that's rather fab, huh?!?!

After a while we started to get hungry so we decided to go to lunch.

We had a group photo taken first, with somebody called Rose.  That's the top of her head behind us lot.  Well, so long as she doesn't bite, I suppose we can take her along with us.....

We found a hare at number ten!

We walked along to Covent Garden....

And found our way to Byron Burgers!!!  I figure the other burger we had last night are better than Byron Burgers but Sandy doesn't believe me, so we're going to taste test.

We got the drinks in first

They hatch dragons here???

Here's the Byron's business card - OH FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!!!!  It's bad enough that Sandy photobombs my blog posts - but HUMANS AS WELL????  D'oh!

Anyway, we got the food in and it was nommy!!!  And I still think Burger & Shake burgers are better than Byrons.....

After lunch, we went to the Transport Museum.

There were loads of vintage buses and trams there too!

And an old taxi

I love buses!!!

ALL ABOARD!!!

And a Hackney Carriage too!!

There's an underground train here too!

OH WOW!!!

That was fun!!!  After that, we went shopping in Covent Garden!

We're going to Laduree!!!!  Huzzah!!!

Because we already got a big box of these, we just got one of the peanut butter macarons!
NOM!

Then we went back to the bus stop to try and get a 6 or a 9 bus - but apparently there's a big parade protest thingy on today and those buses are on diversion!!

So instead we walked down to Charing Cross Station to get the underground.

See what I have to put up with?????
D'YOU SEE????

We got off at the next stop and took this exit back up to the street.

Piccadilly Circus!!

We had a short walk to where we're going and passed a spectacular cayke shop!

We're here!!

At the Royal Academy!  We're not going to see an expedition though....

We're going to have cayke!!!  We got a plum cayke and some orange juice.  Was very tasty!

WILL YOU GET OUT OF MY PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly.........

We did some shopping at Fortnum & Masons for a bit.....

And then got a number 38 bus back towards Foyles bookshop.

Wonder if I can photobomb her pictures......??

We left a floppy disc on this bus!

And then we got off here and found our way back to......

Minalima's on Greek Street!

AND they were open!!!!  So we all did some shopping!

Then it was back to Tottenham Court Road to get a number 14.....

They got a floppy disc too!

We got off here.......

And checked the bus stop to find we could pick up a 390 bus back to the hostel!

So we did!!!  We got off here at the British Museum

And piled back to the hostel to dump all our shopping!

I decided to check out the Lucky Dip bag we got at Minalima's!

WHAT'S IN IT????

OH WOW!!!  I got a pack of 20 postcards, a Harry Potter travel card holder and a Hogwarts Express badge!!!  Brilliant!!

I love the badge!!

AND I found a penny!

Later on, we were all hungry so we went out for dinner.

We're going somewhere I've never been before, too!

Piebury Corner!

We all bagged a big table to sit at.....

And then checked out the menu.....

We got drinks in.....

Schlurp!

We got a chicken and mushroom pie, creamy mashed potatoes and gravy!
It was YUMMY!!

Sandy ate all his - but we had to help him lick the plate clean.

They even had manhole covers in here too!!!

Then we walked back to Kings Cross Station....

What are we going inside for???

That's Platform 9 and three quarters!!!!!  Everyone was lining up to have their picture taken!!

We had a look in the shop too but that was crazy mad busy!

Then we all hightailed it back to the hostel!

We're all exhaustipated!!!!!

We got into our jammies and watched the sun go down for a bit.

'night everyone!!
