Beanie's Mystery Adventure Trip, Day One!!

Today we had to finish off the packing!!  We're good at that you know.....

And then we walked up the road.....

......to the bus stop!!!

We're getting a train!!!

The platform was already announced when we arrived, so we got straight onto the train!
We got a table seat!

And we left the first CD on the hand grip!

We're off!!!

Oh look!  We're getting into London!!!

You can see us crossing the Thames here!!

Right.  We need a number 390 bus today..... there's a bunch of them over there!
Excellent!

Window seat!

The bus got a CD too!!!

We made another video too!

That's the Selfridges clock!

After getting stuck in a traffic jam in Tottenham Court Road, we got off here at the British Library!

OH!!  There's the youth hostel over there!!!

We stopped in Pizza Express for a quick bite to eat and a fizzy drink

Oh good, one each!

Then we came straight in here to Book In!!  That means we're staying for a bit!!!

Look who was waiting for us!!!
Sandy Bear, Otto, Little Fox and Leo!!!  We're having a Beanie Adventure!!!

First we went and dumped our stuff in our room!!!  We were in room 601 today and we had a bottom bunk reserved JUST FOR US!!!
SPECTACULAR!!!

We've never had a view of the rooftops before......

They have funny drawings on the lifts in this place!!!

Then we went downstairs to meet up with the gang and decided on our first Adventure of the weekend!!!

We went over to this bus stop to get a number 214 bus!  I don't think we've ever taken this bus....
where does it go???

We put a floppy disc on this one!!
(ED's note: this one has already been claimed on the found art blog!!!)

After about half an hour, we got off here and then had to try and cross the road!!!

We managed it and then found A Hill in London!!!
The views are cracking from up here!!!

WOW look at them buildings!!!

Andrea says she doesn't think they're real Tudor ones though.....

We needed a rest after walking up that hill.....

When we came out the other side of the Tudor building estate, we came to Highgate Cemetary!  Andrea says it's really famous and we've come here specially to see it!

That one is for Anna Mahler who's the daughter of Gustav Mahler the composer!

But this chap's not an author......huh???

We found the first of a lot of Celtic crosses....

This one is for Douglas Adams, who wrote the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy of five books.  Sandy Bear says he's never read those.  Sandy needs to get a satchel and a towel.  Essential for the seasoned traveller, you know.

There's another celtic cross

That's Karl Marx, he's a communist.  He used to work in the British Museum while his wife stayed at home freezing her whatsits off (he forgot to pay the heating bills)

We left a bookcrossing book there.

Those are some more communists from Iraq and places like that.

That one has an anchor on it.......

That person was an anti slavery person.  We like her.

YOU CAN'T SHOW YOUR BUM IN A CEMETARY!!!!!!!!!!!  PUT SOME PANTS ON!!

Another celtic cross

See?  There's loads of them!

We put a floppy disc here!

That's got a doggie on it!

That's Malcolm McLaren's grave.

He got the Sex Pistols formed, and there lots of safety pins on top of his headstone

That one was a footballer - there's a football on the right there too

That one's pretty

After all that walking, we decided to have a sit down for a bit.

That's Jeremy Beadle's headstone.

Curator Of Oddities, he was.

Another celtic cross

That one's made of wood!

We found some pretty flowers too.

Dead?  Yup, that'll be why he's at a cemetary then.........

LOADS of celtic crosses.........

We had another rest here...... so much walking!

You can see Sandy's Mum in the background there.......!

There's another dog!

After all that walking, we decided to head off back to the bus stop to get another 214 back to Kings Cross!

We didn't have to wait long, and they got a CD too!

We saw some fun grafitti on the way home!

Oh here we are!

We got off here!!

We then walked through the station and found the Laduree concession!

Of course, we'll have to buy some now.......!!

Then we headed back towards the youth hostel......

......and then onto the Burger And Shake place because we were all starving hungry!!!

Sandy wasn't sure we'd found the right place - and didn't believe that they do better burgers than Byrons!!!  We're going to do a taste test though!!!!!

We found a table big enough for all of us!

And then got the beers in!
Excellent!!

YUMMMMM!!!  House Burger, well done, with fries!
EXCELLENT!

After we'd all stuffed our faces, it was back to the hostel.  I left the last CD of the day on this railing!

That's such a lovely building, that is.......

Never get bored of looking at that!!
Because we were all pooped out from all that walking, we decided to say goodnight and go to bed.  We're going to meet up down here tomorrow after breakfast!

Aha!!!  Midnight feast!

'night!!!
