Today we got up early and had a small breakfast - pancakes wiv chocolate sauce and croissants and coffee!
And then a bit later on, we went out to get stuff done!
We went this way.....
....to the bus stop.....
And got the number 65 bus!!!
We crossed over Kew Bridge.
And got off here at Richmond Station!
We got the district and circle line to Victoria....
And then changed to the Victoria line to Pimlico!
Then we made our way out of the station and saw some funky tiles that made pictures!!
Ah, yeah, I remember that sculpture!
And then just as we got to the bus stop, our bus turned up!!! We're getting the C10!!
They got a CD as well!!
And we're off!!
And we got off here!
We're at the Tate Britain!!
We're going to see an expedition!!!
And we got in half price with our Art Pass!!
It was a photography expedition all about the 1980s, so the coal miners strikes, Margaret Thatcher shutting down the collieries, Race riots and racially aggravated murders, and the AIDS epidemic..... very depressing stuff......
Afterwards we had a look round the gift shop (we'll show you later) and then used the facilities. We left them a floppy disc!
And then we headed off back to the bus stop.....
.....round the corner!
We left a weathergram on the info board.
And then we got another C10 bus!!
And got off here!
We left another weathergram on this info board too!
Then we got the 360 bus!
They got a CD as well!
And we're off!!
Oh wow.....!
And we got off here!!
We're at South Kensington!
We did a bit of shopping and then came here for lunch!
We had a fizzy drink.
And then, because they didn't have our favourite pizza on the menu, we had a calzone instead!
It was yum!!
Then we went off for the next bus stop!
And we found a manhole cover on the way!
Aha! Here we are!!
We left a weathergram here too!
BUS BINGO ALERT!! We got the number 70!
We gave them a floppy disc
Where are we going now?
Oh! We got off here!!
We're at Kensington High Street!!
We wandered up and down and did a bit more shopping and then came to the Underground station - which had a green hand in a planter!!
And came back to Richmond!!
Then we went to get another bus from here....
...another 65!
And THEN we got off AT THE CAYKE SHOP!!!
(we'll show you later!)
Then it was back to the bus stop....
....and another 65 bus!!
They got a CD too!
And we got off here!
And had a short walk back to our hotel!
We had a cuppa tea and had a look at the postcards we bought.
We got these at a bookshop at South Kensington.
And we got a chocolate eclair, an apricot tart and a chocolate rum sponge cayke!!!
Later on we went out for dinner.
That used to be a fire station. It's a Ukrainian restaurant now but the Google reviews on the food aren't great.. Not eating there then.
We walked past a little canal....
And came here which had decent Google reviews. It's supposed to be open on Saturdays until 10:30 pm.
It's not. It's closed. Not eating here then.....
So we walked back the way we came
And came past a pub with a beehive on the roof!
There's a close up of the big murial!
So we came here, a Thai restaurant that's open!!!
We had a glass of wine...
And we had a starter of prawn toast - they were fab!!
Then we had a prawn Pad Thai which was seriously fab!!
We couldn't finish it all!!
We had Ganesh sitting behind us
Then it was time to head back to the hotel again
Didn't take us long!
Then we had a cuppa tea and went to bed!
Night!
Ooops... no SD card reader... that doesn't sound like happy blogging... Yummy looking treats though.
ReplyDeleteWell yeah. No. Bringing laptop was a bit last minute, and forgot about connectivity with camera (or lack thereof!) And can you find an electronics shop when you want one? NO!!! So. Having to take a few shots on phone camera and emailing them to myself....
ReplyDeleteThat sound tedious. You'd think electronics shop would be a dime a dozen! (Or whatever a 10p piece is in the UK... probably doesn't translate well...)...
DeleteI know what you mean!!! And yeah..... but nope. Can't find 'em for love nor money
DeleteExcellent adventure. And I finally got a Bus Bingo (#70!). Hearitly sick of that #65...
ReplyDeleteYeah, but I only ever take the 65 on the rare occasion I'm in the Richmond area...
