Birthday trip!

Today we got up silly early as we're going on a Special Day Out for my birthday!!!
We went out to the bus stop and should've only had to wait ten minutes.....

....but ended up waiting 30 minutes for the coach to turn up!!!!  We're going somewhere!!

Have we got Jaffa Caykes???

We're at Poole Valley in Brighton now but we didn't get off here.

We gave them a floppy disc too!!

They've got the ice skating rink up outside the Royal Pavillion!

We spotted some grafitti on the walls!

Then we had panno shoko LAH for breakfast!!!

YUMMM!

We're at Gatwick now.  But we didn't get off here.

JAFFA CAYKES!!!  HURRAAYYY!!!

nomnomnom

nomnomnomnomnom

Oh look at that!!!!!!

It's a rainbow!!!

OOOoooo there's a plane taking off!!

We're at Heathrow Airport now!!  We didn't get off here either.

Ooooo that's an odd shaped building!!

We're coming into London now, going over the Hammersmith Flyover.
But not literally flying though, you can't fly in a coach.

.....coming off the flyover the other side......

Yup, we're definitely in London now!!

Ooo that's pretty!

Oh I know where this is!!!!

It's Victoria Coach Station!!! We've arrived!!

We used the facilities and left them a floppy disc!!
We all washed our paws forever before we left.....

And then we're off!!
Where to next Jeeves?!!

Over the road to the bus stop!!  Which one?

Ooo this is our bus coming along now!!

BUS BINGO ALERT!  It's the C10!!

We tied a floppy disc to the handrail!

That's that steampunk statue at Pimlico!!  We've seen that loads of times!!

We're on the other side of the river now.....

It's very residential in this part of London....

Oh!!  We thought this was just a lot of photographs on the wall, but they make a picture of an eye!!

.....Did you spot the muriel??!...

It's a painted planter!!!

That's the Thamesside Youth Hostel!!  It's closed for business at the moment but it looks like they're doing it up.

And we all got off at the very last stop, at Canada Water!!!

That's the Canada Water library over there!!

Right..... so we got off at the bus station.....

.....which has the library in front of it......

....so presumably that big lake there is the "Canada Water" bit.....

....and then to the left is Leadbelly's restaurant!  Let's go have lunch!!!

Right now, what shall we have?

Ummm... don't fancy burgers or pizza.....

OK.  So we got a fizzy drink.....

And then a bit later we got this put on our table!!!!!

It's mussels!!!  With warm toasted chunks of bread!!!

SCHLURP SCHLURP SCHLURP...

SCHLURP SCHURP BURP!!

There's pudding as well??!!  It's Cheesecayke!!!

It's got strawberries on it and those little pink bits are meringue!
Oh this is brill!!

Wow!  What a brilliant lunch!!!
We went back to the bus station to get another bus.

It's another C10!

They got a floppy disc too!

We're off now.... that was a good lunch out!!

Ooo, that's a posh view!

Oh!!  There's a farm here!!!

We got off at Rotherhithe station to go look at something....

The Brunel Museum is round here!!

And another muriel!!

That's the museum!

That's one of the engine gizmo things that Brunel used.

We played at train driving!!!

Wooo-wooooo!!!  CHOOchoochoochoo CHOOchoochoochoo
I love playing train drivers!!!

Opposite the Brunel Museum is Simplicity restaurant which is only open at dinner times.  We've eaten here a bunch of times when we've stayed at the Youth Hostel along the road, and it's really good food!

Then it was time to go back to the bus stop.

And we got another C10 bus!!

We gave them a CD.....

Oh hang on.....!

That's the Shard over there!!!

Looks like some kind of market over there.....

There's the London Eye down there!!

We crossed over the Thames again....

...and a bit later, spotted an Art deco building!!!

Coo!!

Marsham Court at the Page Street bus stop, this is!!

We're in Pimlico now!

I recognise that!!

We're back at the Victoria Coach Station!  It's almost home time!

We had time to use the facilities and left them a floppy disc.  We all washed our paws carefully afterwards.

And then went to get our coach home.  What a fab day out!!

We were first on the coach and got a window seat!

They got a floppy disc too!

And we're off....!  Bye!!

That's the National Audit office opposite the coach station.

We're off!

That's a posh building....

We travelled past lots of houseboats on the Thames!!

Gosh, it's pretty in this part of London!

OH!  Stars!!

Hum..... wonder what station that is?

Oh, those are fancy!!

And so's that!!

We're on the Hammersmith flyover again and it's going at a snail's pace because it's Friday rush hour.
And it's peeing down with rain!!

Absolutely WAZZING it with rain!  But we're nice and dry on a comfy coach, so we're good!

We started getting a bit peckish so we had another panno shoko lah....

Love these!!

Ooop, we've arrived at Heathrow!

Then we got the Jaffa Caykes out!  Hurrah!!

nomnomnomnom

nomnomnomnom.....!!

Then we arrived at Gatwick!!  Not far from Brighton now!

Ooooo we're in Brighton now.....!!

We're going past Harry Ramsden's restaurant and the Palace Pier!

And finally got dropped off over the road from home!!
That was a brilliant birthday outing!!

  1. Brilliant adventure!!! I never knew the C10 bus went all the way out to Canada Water. But inquiring minds want to know... why is it called Canada Water?? .... I looked it up... cause that's where Canada Docks were, where mostly ships from Canada docked! That makes sense... And.. we looked up Jaffa Cakes cause they are in every London adventure and... do they really have orange jelly/jam layers? Don't like jelly in my stuff... no... ick!

    1. Jaffa cakes aren't in EVERY London adventure - only the ones we take the National Express coach in!! And yes, Jaffa cakes have a small layer of orange jelly in the centre, between the sponge bottom and chocolate top. Next time you're over, we'll have to get a packet so you can try one.

    2. There's also connections to the Mayflower ship and the Pilgrim Fathers that sailed over to America in the 1600s. It's an interesting part of London, with a lot of boatbuilding/naval connections.

    4. Nope - only on National Express Coaches!

    5. But why? Why not on the train too? Or do they give them away for free on the coach? Or is it a longer trip and you need sustenance!?

    6. The coach is a 3 and a half hour trip, so snacks are required!!!
