This morning we got up in time for breakfast, and Andrea had her usual weird full English cooked breakfast with a mug of coffee.
We had panno shoko LAH again! We love those!!
Then we were off out for another adventure!!
But first we had a look at the river, which runs past the back of the hotel. There's some stairs here for the mudlarkers
And then we set off for the bus stop!
We got the number 65 again!
They got a light my life card!
And here we are crossing Kew Bridge again!
We got off here at Richmond Station!! Where next Jeeves?
We crossed the road to get another bus....
BUS BINGO ALERT!!!! We got the number 190!!
They got a CD!
And we're off!! We went past Mortlake Cemetery!
It's MASSIVE!!
And we crossed the Thames again!!!
And then went past ANOTHER cemetery!!
I think this is a roundabout.... we're going a long way today!
Coo, that's a bit posh!
Oh!!! (those of you that know Andrea, will "get" this!)
There's a pretty park there!
And past a church too!
And Hammersmith Station!
Oh that's fancy!!
Past another park....!!
And we got off here at the last stop!!
Then we had a little walk past here to get to where we're going.
Can you see how that building is decorated??!
We just need to go past here, West Brompton Station!
It's the Old Brompton Cemetery!!
We left a floppy disc on their railing.....
And then went to the entrance! We're going to visit!!
We made a little video
And another little video
And then had a wander down to the other end.
This is a huge cemetery.... bigger than Highgate we think but not as big as Kensall Green
We saw a Crow standing on a headstone!!
That headstone is very weathered....
We took loads of photos of Celtic Cross headstones but put them all in a separate post because there's so many!
Later on we found the mausoleum place in the centre of the cemetery
Ooooo shall we go look??
OH!! It's the Slytherin Mausoleum!!!
Sandy told us about this place.....
....what......wait.....
Did I see something move???
RUN!!!!
Oh that was creepy!! Don't want to get eaten by a snake, now!! We left a CD here to pacify them
And then carried on looking around
Did we tell you this place is massive?
We spooted a magpie but he didn't want his picture taken
Here's a mini mausoleum with its' own Celtic Cross headstone.
we're down the other end now!
Oh!!! This one's colourful!
We left one of our poppy windchimes on it!
OOOoo! Squidgel!!
That's a pretty headstone.....
We're round the other side of that mausoleum place now.....
It's a headless cherub!
OH!!! This little fella only lived for a day! Bless him!
We left a decorated CD for him too.
And put a poppy windchime on a bush nearby.
Further along, we spotted another colourful one -
We think this person really liked Christmas!
So we put a poppy windchime on the tree too! Can you see?!
And we put another one on here!
We like those!
We found the military graves too
We put some more poppy windchimes on the railings.
We saw three more crows here too!
And a final windchime here..
Ooo that's an interesting tree
And now we were ready to head back!
So it's down here back to the bus stop.
Ooo, that's a bit mad!
There's a faded advertisement on that building too!
Aha! Here we are!!
We got the 190 back to Richmond!!
We gave them a decorated vinyl record!!
And we're off!!
Oh that's posh!
There's another church there!
Oh!!
There's a mosaic at the top of that building! We're in Hammersmith now!
Ooooo!
There's lots of churches here...!
And then came back over the Thames again!
We got off near where we started this morning and then came up the road to eat lunch at Diba, the Persian Restaurant that we know.
Ummm...... it's a bit closed!!! And had loads of scaffolding round the building!!
Then we spotted this sign on the shop next door - there'd been a fire!!
We looked it up on Google later - there had been a big first on the 1st and 2nd floors and had seven fire engines to put it out and that was back in July 2023!!!
Umm... so we're going elsewhere for lunch!
Oh that's pretty!!
LET'S GO HERE!!!
we got a fizzy drink....
And a pepperoni pizza! Yum!!
AND we had tiramisu for afters!!!
HURRAH!!!
after lunch, we went back to the bus stop to head back to the hotel.
We got the number 65 again!!
they got a light my life card!
There's the bagoda at Kew Gardens again!!
Bet they're busy today!!
There's that pretty church again!
And crossing Kew Bridge AGAIN!!!
We got off at Waterman's Centre and then walked back to the hotel for a cuppa tea and another cayke!
After a good rest from all that walking around today, we went out for dinner.
Tonight we went over the road to Albany Spice which is an Indian restaurant.
We got a fizzy drink.
And we got prawn korma, pilau rice and a garlic nan bread.
It was OK.... but we get better curries at the Ashoka back home.
After we completely stuffed our faces, we went back to the hotel.
And had the free chocolate we'd been given!!
And then fell into bed completely exhaustipated!!!
Ummm...
ReplyDelete1. Is that a clump of black pudding for breakfast? With mushrooms and weird white stuff?
