Yesterday, Andrea found a bunch of abandoned coins whilst out doing her shopping, and they're automatically MINE!!! So I'm taking them with me today on our adventure, as Spending Money!!
So, off we went up the road....
....to the bus stop....
....and got off at the train station!
And our train was waiting for us to arrive!!! We got a window seat too!!
Oooo we can the Battersea Power Station chimneys over there!!! We're nearly in London!!
And now we're going over the Thames!!
We came out of the train station and went to get a bus.... so where are we going??
Ummm it's a new bus stop!!! The number 11 bus has changed its' route!!
It goes to Waterloo now, so we have to redraw part of the London bus guide for it.
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! We're getting the number 11!!
And we're off!!
We tied a CD to the hand rail!
We're going past Westminster Abbey here, so this part of the route is the same.....
And we're just arriving at Parliament Square here, so this bit of the route is the same.....
AHA!! Here's where it changes!!! We're about to go over Westminster Bridge!!
Coo.....!!
And we got dropped off here at Waterloo Station!!
Yeah, this looks familiar! The 507 stopped here...
And that glass building in the distance? That's near the Tate Modern!!
We had to change bus stops to get the return bus...
And we left a god card on the bus stop.
And then got the number 11 bus the other way!!
They got a CD too!
Coo that's fancy....
But we got off here instead of the station!! There's Big Ben over there!!!
And the Houses of idiots Parliament.
There was a big lion over the road too!!
Right well we're using this bus stop next....
They got a god card too!!
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! We're getting the number 12 bus!!
We gave them a CD too.
And then we crossed back over the Thames.
And turned into Whitehall.
All the way down the other end, we went into Trafalgar Square!!
And then we ended up by Piccadilly Circus, which is where we got off!!!
We had to walk a little way round the corner into Piccadilly to find the next bus stop...
And we left another god card at the bus stop info board!
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! We got the number 19!!!
We tied a floppy disc onto the hand rail....
And headed off round Piccadilly Circus!
Oooo that's a bit posh....
Oh now, we've seen that before!!
Ooooo!
Barber Streisand? OH! Hahaha!! Barber Streisand!!!
That's Sadlers Wells ballet....
Now where?
Oooo
...past a big park...
...very big park...
And some posh houses
Ooooo they got pretty stuff....!
Oh that's Finsbury Park Mosque!!
And this is the last stop, Finsbury Park Station!!
So then we found the bus stop for the return trip....We're starting to get hungry now...
We left another god card on the bus info board....
And didn't have to wait long for the next Bus 19 for the return trip!
They got a CD!
Oh! Key cutting shop?!!
London Screen Academy...
Posh church!!
OOOoooo!
Then we got off here at Islington Green!
We decorated the railings round the park.
Oo that's a big posh for a coffee shop!!
We like decorating!!
And then we stopped to say hello to Bob.
And did some more decorating!!
Then it was a short walk up the road to Mem & Laz for lunch!! We've been here before!!
We got a fizzy drink...
And examined the place setting gizmo on the table. Can you see the bear eating cayke at the bottom??!?!
Then we got a big bowl of mussels in a white wine & cream sauce with some chips.
IT WAS YUMTASTIC!!
After lunch we had a little walk as we were totally stuffed....
...and went down here....
And left another windchime here!
Then it was back to the bus stop.
Left another god card on the info board.
And then got on another Bus 19!!
They got a CD...
Oooo they got a wol on their window!!!
...love those balconies!
oooooo..... posh!!
That's a fancy arcade of shops..... or it would be if the shops were open....!
That's Tottenham Court Road station! It was a building site forever when they were building it.
After here, we went on a Diversion because of some procession down Piccadilly.
We're going past Chinatown here....
And that's the South African Embassy on Trafalgar Square
And then we went past Haymarket....
Past St James' Palace
And got off at Green Park! There's the Ritz behind us!!
We walked past the Ritz to here and saw some fancy window dressings...
It's Fortnum & Mason!!!
Let's go in!!!!
Coo....!
THEY'VE CHANGED THE COFFEE TINS!!!!
After we did a spot of shopping (we'll show you later) we walked back towards the bus stop.
Here we are....
We left another god card on the info board....
And we got on the number 19 to ride the other end of the route!!
They got a floppy disc!
We went past Constitution Hill - that's the statue for Bomber Command.
That's a funky building.....!
Oooo another park!
oh wow....!
We're going through Sloane Square now....
And then along the King's Road!!
Oooo pretty!
Oh wow, look at those railings!!
See??!!
OOOooo!!
Pretty tiles and stained glass
We eventually turned off the Kings Road and went down here....
And then crossed the river at Battersea Bridge!
And we all got off at the very last stop!!!
Which happened to be by the Royal College of Art!!!
Then we crossed over the road - it was starting to spit with rain a little bit now.
We left a poppy wind chime here
And a god card on the bus info board!!
We spotted a sculpture in the distance too, by the river. But it's getting on in the day AND it's raining so we didn't go to investigate.
We didn't have to wait too long for the bus back!!
We gave them a god card....
We got back onto the Kings Road and went past the Bluebird building which is a pretty art deco
We saw this in a shop window!!!
That fancy black statue is at the entrance of a Pizza restaurant!!
We're back at Sloane Square now....
Went past another park!
And past here too....
We spotted more lions!!
And we got off here at Constitution Hill!! It's proper raining now!!
We found a blindfolded Chinese lion statue!
We needed to get across the road so we used the underpass which had fancy tiles in it!!
And came out by the bus stop we needed to use - just as our bus turned up!!!
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the number 13!!!
They got a god card too!!
And we got off at the last stop, back at Victoria Station!!
We quickly used the facilities and gave them a floppy disc. Then we washed our paws carefully...
And went and caught our train!!! We were lucky to get window seats because the train was mega-busy!
Wow! It's proper pelting it with rain now!!!! Wazzing it down!!!
Well that's a bit of a different view of the Thames from this morning!!
YAY!! We've arrived back home!!
We found a seagull directing passengers on top of this signpost!
But we knew where we were going - out to the bus stop!! Didn't have to wait long...
And we got off at the last stop! And then ran home!
This is the coffee we got from Fortnums....
What a day!
Another epic adventure day! But... what the heck is up with changing the route of #11. That is like a classic London bus!! Ugh... oh, and can you send us some rain. We could use some "wazzing down" rain there to. And... love those God cards! Are you selling them in your shop?
ReplyDeleteI know!!! It's shocking about the number 11 bus!!! Although the number 26 has taken over that route.... not selling the god cards, but could send you a few anyway, if you'd like...?
