Buses, sculptures and diversions.....

We got up early today and Andrea said we're going somewhere!!!

We got to the bus stop and didn't have to wait long for a bus.

They got a floppy disc!

Didn't take long to get to the station either!

And our train was already there waiting for us!!

And we're off!!!

Love this bit...!!

Ooooo - can just about see the chimneys of Battersea Power Station here!!!

We're crossing the Thames!!!

Then we went out of the station.....

And got .... BUS BINGO ALERT!!.... the number 38!!

They got a floppy disc.

We went past some posh buildings at the back of Buckingham Palace.

And here we are going round Constitution Hill and past Hyde Park Corner and..... HANG ON A MINUTE!!  Why are we going up Park Lane??  What's going on???!!

We ended up going all the way up Park Lane to Marble Arch and then along Oxford Street!!!  We managed to get the bus to stop and got off.....

And then crossed the road and started walking back towards Piccadilly.  Hope Andrea knows where she's going, she got hopelessly lost last time she walked somewhere!!!

But we did see some interesting stuff like this shop front.

And a doggie in front of a house in a shop window!!

And those weird things too....

oooo that's pretty!!

Oh!!   A park bench with statues sitting on it!! Andrea says the one on the right is Winston Churchill and the other chappie is some American chappie.

we left a poppy windchime hanging off the cigar...!

OOooooo!!

Oh wow!!

OH!!  We're round the other side of Burlington Arcade and the Royal Academy!!  I know where we are now, Andrea took us the right way!!!

Oh wow - do you see the top of that building?!!

TA-DA!!!  We're here!!

We've come to see the Royal Academy summer expedition!!

Let's go in!!!

They had this statue in the Courtyard....
We went to the ticket office and got our entry ticket - the RA give you all of a £3 discount on the National Art Pass, the stingy bleepers....!

Then we went in!!!

They had a fuzzy chair!!!!

And a ceiling light wearing a leotard!!!!

And another weird looking chair....

With....something....inside it!!

There were some big blue draped cloth in the central cuppola bit....

And a crazy quilt!!

And a stripy quilt too!!

Uhh.....

.....um, OK....

....riiighttt....

People live in a wardrobe??!  Oh wow!!

Hmm.  They have some strange stuff here this year!

And a cockroache??!!!

Knitted mask and over-long gloves?!

.....strange....!

OK.... now we're getting weird...!!

And a pink bear suit??  OK!!

That's Trump!!

We saw a load of other paintings too but we're going to put them all in a separate post because there's SOOOO MANY of them!!

After a good look round, we went downstairs to use the facilities and left them a windchime.

Then we washed our paws carefully and drew some arms on the mirror!!!
Nobody seemed to mind....

Then we went into the cafe and had a Caesars salad and a chocolate brownie and a bottle of water.
We scarfed it all down quickly because we were starving hungry!

Then we walked back through the Courtyard onto Piccadilly and saw a peacock on the Fortnum and Mason building over the road!!!

It was just a short walk to the nearest bus stop. We were planning in getting the number 23 bus but they weren't running down Piccadilly because of the diversions because of the demonstrations!!!

While Andrea had a think about what bus to get, we spotted some art nouveau railings on the building over the road!!!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We got another number 38!!!

They got a floppy disc!!

We went back past Green Park.

And got off here at Constitution Hill

And then walked down to this bus stop..... Andrea checked the route maps on the stop and discovered the number 36 was going to where we wanted!!! But then the electronic sign didn't show any arriving.....

So BUS BINGO ALERT we got the 390 instead!!!  This is turning into a proper game of bus bingo this is!!!

We tied a floppy disc on here too...

We ended up going back along Oxford Street....

And up Tottenham Court Road....

And got off here just before the Euston Road junction!

Over the road was an art deco building!!

THEN we had to walk onto the Euston Road and turn left and then get onto ANOTHER BUS!!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!  We got the 205 bus!!!

They got a floppy disc as well!

We went along the main road.....

Past Marylebone Town Hall where somebody's getting married!!!  We cheered loudly!!

And we got off here at Paddington Station!!!

We saw that man cleaning the inside of the clock.....!

And then when we crossed the road and went down towards the station, we found a big statue - lots of animals sitting down for tea!  There's a koala bear and a tiger.... you an make out the elephant and giraffe and hippo too!

And that's the other end of the table.  There's two spare stools so you can sit down and join in!!!

So we did!!!

We love this statue!!!

that's taken from the back of the statue....

and so's that one!!

That's what it's called!!

Then we went down the side of the station and found another Morph!!

And then went and said hallo to Paddington himself!!

And then we decided we were so exhaustipated, it was time to go home!!!  So back to the main road...

....and another bus stop!

BUS BINGO ALERT!  We got a number 36!!

They got a floppy disc too!

That's a very weird building.....

Oh, that's the trumpet statue near Marble Arch!!

OOOoooo!

that's the globe outside the Dorchester Hotel!!

We got off at Victoria Station and popped into the gardens over the road.

We found a badger made of willow!!!

The new King made a nature trail!!

.....wonder where the others are??

we decided to leave some windchimes on the railings.....

.....and then walked over to the station to catch our train!

And there was a train waiting for us when we got there!!!  AND we got a window seat!

There's Battersea Power station over there!

We're crossing the Thames again!

Love this bit....

There's the South Downs in the distance!

And we're back!!!

We had to wait a little bit for the bus home....

And gave them a floppy disc too!!!

Andrea got another bubble bar in the Lush shop at Victoria Station.  She's strange that way.

We got some chocolate from the Royal Academy

And some postcards....

And some greeting cards too!!

What a day!!
