A last minute day out

Andrea got a day off work today and decided to get up early and take us out!!!

We raced all the way up the road to Hove Train Station and we got a really early train ......

Coo, that's a nice view!  We don't normally come this way.....

Ah, now I remember THIS bit!!

Still very early though....

Interesting sky light....

OH!!  It's Battersea Power Station!!

We're crossing the Thames now but the other trains got in the way!!!

First of all, we used the facilities and left a CD for them.   Then we washed our paws forever.

Right then.  So what are we going to do now?

We're going to ride the number 52 bus route!!!  Wonder where this goes?

We gave them a CD!!

Well, we're about to find out!!!

Ooo this is a bit posh!

Oh there's the Royal Albert Hall there!!!

Then we came through the Notting Hill part of London, with lots of interesting shops.

And interesting buildings too!

OH!! This is the stop for Portobello Market!!

Then it started getting more suburban and residential....

... and we came past another canal too.....

....and a weird building!!  A water tower with windows?????

See?  It's proper suburban now.....

Never been out this way before.

And we finally got turfed off the bus here, at Willesden Bus Garage.

Presumably, that's the bus garage....

So.... we then had to cross the road and double back on ourselves and find the right bus stop for the return journey.  We spotted a pretty sari in a shop window....

....and a crazy sculpture thing....

AHA!  Here's our bus stop!!

And here's our bus!!!

They got a CD as well!

Back over the canal.....

Passed a stripy wall..... think those are tiles.

....some posh houses...

CAKE!!!  WAIT!!! STOP!!!!  IT'S CAKE!!

There's another fancy building.

And we got off here at Kensington High Street because it was nearly lunchtime and we were getting hungry.

We passed this fancy building on the way....

And then we arrived here!!!

SALE??  Well it would be rude not to, wouldn't it?!  (we'll show you later!)

Then we went for a short walk in Holland Park as we had a bit of time before "official" lunch time.

We left a floppy disc out too

A bit later on, we doubled back to the main road and stopped her for lunch!!

We got a fizzy drink.....

And a bhaji burger with koffman fries!!!!

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We scoffed all of that in a hurry!

Then we had a short walk back down High Street Kensington back towards the bus stop.

Here we go.....

And hopped back onto another 52 back to the station!

They got another CD

And then we got spit out at the very last stop, outside Victoria Station where we started!

We had enough time to leave another floppy disc on the railings here....

Before heading back into the station to get our train home.   They got a floppy disc too!

And we got our own seat!!!

Then we were off....!

After a snooze on the train, we woke up in time to see the South Downs in the distance.

And here we are!!

Then it was over to the bus stop to get the last bus of the day.....

Which turfed us out here!

When we got home, we had a proper look at the watercolour papers we bought.  

Ten different sheets by four different manufacturers..... these'll be fun to try out!

So - that was our fun day out!
