A trip to London (day two)

So we got up early and came into the restaurant for breakfast...... coffee, orange juice, cocoa pops, panno shoko lah and kwussants.  I LOVE PANNO SHOKO LAH!!!

After breakfast we had to go pack up our stuff.  We got new stamps in our passports too!

Right ho - that's us packed up!

And we're off..... what a fun day we had yesterday!

Oh!  We're at the bus stop?  Are we not going home yet then?!?!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We're getting the number 91!!

They got a floppy disc!

And we're off!!!  They've got wavy railings on that building!!

We got off here, at Aldwych!  Where are we going now??

We went past the India High Commission and saw a plark with a tiger on it!!

We're here, at Somerset House!!

We've come to see a Van Gogh expedition!!

We were a bit early so we had a look in the courtyard...... they got some weird alien things there!!!

Then a few more people arrived so we got in line to go into the gallery! When we got in though, the lift (elevator) was shut so we had to walk up a three storey spiral staircase that you could see straight down the middle of and Andrea has horrid veritgo.... but a very nice chap in a loud sweater helped us upstairs!!  He was nice!!

It was a very small expedition in only two rooms and had 35 of Van Gogh's portraits in it..... some of them were the pointy-list style and the last one (done at the assylum just before he died) was different enough from his normal style that people didn't think it was a real Van Gogh for a while!  It was interesting to see them all together!!  Afterwards, we managed to get downstairs to the gift shop (we'll show you later!) which is now in the basement where the cafe used to be.

Then we headed off to find another bus stop!

Bus Bingo Alert!  We got the number 6!!!

This bus got a funky CD with dangly sequins on the bottom!!!

We're going past Admiralty Arch here, at Trafalgar Square!!

And later, we spotted a gold statue on a building!!

We got off at Green Park near Constitution Hill and left a floppy disc on the railing!

We left another one here too!

And here's Constitution Hill!!!

We have to walk over there now, which is Hyde Park Corner.

We left another floppy disc there too, with a sparkly butterfly on!!

And arrived at this bus stop.  Which one are we getting now??

Bus Bingo Alert - the number 23!!!!

We gave this bus another Ukrainian colours flower CD.....

We're going up Park Lane now, up the side of Hyde Park.

That scaffolding is what's left of the infamous Marble Arch Mound..... the disastrous attempt at building a new tourist attraction.  Was supposed to cost £3 million, ended up costing £6 million, was supposed to have panoramic views over Hyde Park but only in winter when there's no leaves on the trees.  Tickets originally cost £9 each, then half price due to complaints, then free after even more complaints..... they're taking it down now!!!!!  The head of Westminster Council resigned because of the uproar!!

We ended up getting off here.  Do you see that clock just above my ear?

There's somebody cleaning the inside!!!!!

We'd ended up at Paddington Station and went to see Paddington Bear!!!!

After hanging out with him for a bit, we went on our way and spotted these statues outside!

We gave them a floppy disc too!

Then it was onto the next bus stop.....

Bus Bingo Alert!!! - the number 205!!

We gave this bus a floppy disc....!

We're going along the Euston Road now!

And we got off here outside the British Library!!!  Back to where we started this morning!!!

We were getting hungry so we decided to have lunch here!

American classic pizza with a soggy bottom and a fizzy drink.

We've had better pizza but it filled our tummies!!!

And then it was time to come home!!!  What a blast we've had!!

We stopped at the Fortnum & Masons shop on the way (we'll show you later!)

And (of course) at the Laduree concession!!  (we'll show you later!)

We used the facilities and left a CD hanging on the door.  Then we all washed our paws carefully for half an hour.

And then went down to the station to get our train home - and we only had to wait two minutes!!!  How fab is that?!?!

We tied the last of our floppy discs to the hand rail!!

We're coming into Blackfriars Station here - this is where we got off yesterday!!!

We're going past Borough Market here.....

This part's lovely!

You can see the South Downs in the distance there!  We're nearly home!!

And we've arrived home!!!!!

Only had to wait a few minutes to get our bus.....

And got off here!!

So.  Shopping!!  Lots of postcards, a paint splat eraser and a small bar of chocolate.  We ate the chocolate for dinner!!!

We got a tin of bis kwits and a tin of coffee.....

OOOOOOOoooooooo!!!!!

YUM!!  That yellow one's squished, can we have it now??
