Out for a quickie.......

Today we had planned to meet up with a friend in London but she had to cancel.  We met with her last Tuesday instead, but we'd already bought and collected train tickets for today...... so we decided to use them for a quickie trip to London!

So off we go!

It was rammed busy again today so we didn't manage to do the usual photos or videos.....

Until we got to arriving at Victoria Station!!

We used the facilities first and left them a floppy disc!

And then headed out.

We decided to walk down to Grosvenor Gardens......

where my favourite sculpture is....

And sat down to have sarnies first!

Then we walked back to the bus stop for the first bus of the day!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  It's the 148 bus!

They got a beer mat too!

We got off at Marble Arch!

We had a bit of a walk to the next bus stop.....

Which is down Oxford Street.

BUS BINGO ALERT!  We got the 113!

They got a beer mat too!

We went past Portman Square....

And past a funky building facade!

There's the Sherlock Holmes museum!!!  There were hoardes of people queued up outside

Ooo that's a posh building!

Slightly Gaudi-ish too.

And then we got off at the top end of Regents Park.  We had a bit of a walk here too...

That's pretty - but it looks closed down.

That's Lords Cricket Ground!  It's one of the famous cricket grounds in London (the other being the Oval in south London)

That's it over there...

Think that's the main entrance there....

Then we went round the corner and past a church

Oh!  You can walk down to Regents Canal here!

Down that alleyway!

There's another Regents Canal entrance.
It's a really long canal, starts in Limehouse somewhere in East London and then goes up to Camden and then along to here and to Little Venice.

You can just peek some boats behind the trees.....

Aha!  Here's our next bus stop!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  It's the 189 back to Marble Arch!

Yup, they got a beer mat!

And we're off!

Looks like another church just down there....

Oh wow!  That's posh apartments in that building!

Ooo we're getting close to Oxford Street again now!

It's getting busy!

We got off at the last stop - that's Marble Arch just down there!!

So we walked round the corner for the next bus.....

Which is the 390 back to the station!!

Last beer mat of the day!

We spotted a funny sculpture in Park Lane!!

This one used to be up at Marble Arch, but they moved it.
Don't know why.

We went round Constitution Hill

And got back to the station!  Told you it was a quickie!!

We got a window seat on the train - it wasn't quite so packed as this morning's train.

And set off!  There's Battersea Power Station!

And we crossed the Thames again

Later on we crossed over the Balcombe viaduct

And got off here!!!  That was a fun little trip!!
