Today was supposed to be a normal day at work-at-home.
However, we had the mains gas supply to the building shut off on 7th November because of a leak and today, they were starting work on fixing it, and it's the connection to the actual building. And just before lunch, the drilling started. We couldn't cope with having to listen to it while trying to work, so Andrea's boss said OK to have the day off as annual vacation time.
So we did!!
We scooted up to the train station and we're going somewhere!!
That's Millwall football stadium...
And there's the Shard!!
They've got twinkly lights on!!
Well, well.....!
Going over Borough Market here....
And into Blackfriars Bridge. We didn't get off there though....
We got off here!!!
OH!! There's a brookstick!
That's a fancy book!
OH!! They got an Emerald City Christmas tree!!
Oh wow!!
And you can peek inside through little windows!
Oh wow, that's amazing!!
And Fortnums have a new window display!
With Wols and Mice in it!!
We came out onto Euston Road and decided to have lunch next because we're starving hungry!
So we wandered down here....
And came here but they're closed on Monday lunchtimes!
Bugger.....
So we went back the way we came and decided to go somewhere else we really like.
Here's the bus stop we need....
We got the number 30 bus! We need to do this one end to end one day
And we're off!
We got off here just past Islington Green!
And we came here to Mam and Lez!!
They got funny place mats here
We got a fizzy drink....
And then we got moules mariniere wiv fries!!!
ABSOLUTE YUMBO!!!
After an absolutely FAB lunch, we scooted off again...
And went to see Bob's statue again.
And then went off to the bus stop here. It's starting to get a bit dark now...
We got the number 30 again
And we're off!
And we got off here back where we started!
But we're not going home just yet....
We're popping in here first.
We bought a ticket for £4 to come and see an expedition!
It's about the Silk Road trade route.
Well, a place called Dunhuang specifically which is in between Tibet and Mongolia, with Samarkand to the left and the wild China seas to the right.
It was only a small expedition but it was really interesting!!! They found a cave in Dunhuang with old scrolls in in dating back thousands and THOUSANDS of years!!! Very interesting!
We had a quick look round the gift shop but didn't buy anything this time.
And then it was time to come home!
So went back to the station!
And went past Fortnums again!
It's been fun to get away from the loud drilling noise!
We had to wait a bit for our train but that's OK
We went back over Blackfriars Bridge....
Back over Borough Market
Past Southwark Cathedral
Past Tower Bridge.....
ALLLL the way back to Brighton!!!!
And then had a little walk the other end to get home!!!
