Riding Buses Across London!!!

We got up early this morning and Andrea took us out for a walk.  We're supposed to be going somewhere today but we're not sure because we had a Very Big Storm last night.

But there aren't any trees blown over or any flooding so we might be OK.

We arrived here at Hove train station!!!

We got there just as a train was about to leave so Andrea rushed to get on it, but then found it wasn't the train we wanted!!!!!  Nutter!!!  But we managed to get another train from Brighton station which was going where we wanted so we got that instead!!!  Hahahaaa!!  Just as well we come with her you know, she'd get completely lost without us.....

Wonder where we're going today then...

 

Oh hang on..... that's Battersea Power Station over there, we can see the chimneys!!!

And now we're crossing the Thames!!

We came out of the side exit of Victoria Station and walked down to the bus stop.....

We planned to get a C1 bus but two of them made it onto the LED announcement board but then just disappeared without the bus turning up!!!

So we got the number 11 bus instead!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!

We gave them a floppy disc!!

We forgot to take a picture of where we got off - at Sloane Square - but luckily we could get the 360 bus from the same stop!!!

ANOTHER BUS BINGO ALERT!!!

They got a floppy disc too!!

We had no idea where this bus was going, but we've taken it the other direction so we knew it went to South Kensington..... we think we had a diversion on this bit though.

HUZZAH!!!  We arrived at South Kensington Station!!!

Then we just had to cross the road to this bus stop.....

And we got a number 74 bus!!  BUS BINGO ALERT!!!

Andrea's rubbish with the trains, but she's a whizz with the buses, you know!!

We gave them a CD.....

OOOOoooo a bloo plark!!!  Alfred Hitchcock lived in ther and he made loads of scary movies!!

And we went past Brompton Cemetery!!!

We must visit here sometime.....

And we crossed the Thames again at Putney Bridge!!

And we got off the bus here at the last stop!

Then we had a little walk up the road to Disraeli Street and we came here to Putney Library!

They have a little photo exhibition by some people who have experienced homelessness who are now practicing photography and being mentored by professional photographera

It's a small expedition but some of the pictures are really good!!  We like the ones of St Pauls Cathedral the best.

We left a CD on a bike outside....!

And then had a bit of a wander round.  We're getting mega hungry now....

The sign outside Rymans got a CD too!!

And we put one here on this railing!!

Aha!!!  Soul Flame - it's an anatolian restaurant, which is Turkish!  We decided to go in here for lunch!

They had framed tiles hanging on the walls....

Very pretty!

We had a fizzy drink.....

And chicken shish with rice, a yoghurt dip, a hot dip (which we didn't eat because we don't like hot) and a little salad

And a box of warm flatbread.

It was proper nommy!!!

After lunch we walked down the road a little and then crossed over to St Mary's Church and left a CD on the railing there.

And found a new manhole cover

Aha!  That's our next bus stop!!

Wonder which one we're getting??

We had a few minutes to spare...... so investigated this strange building.  It's a Thai restaurant apparently.

There was a sculpture there too....

It's part of a sculpture trail apparently!  We'll have to investigate that at some point....

Then it was back to the bus stop and. ... BUS BINGO ALERT!!!

We got the number 22!!!

We gave them a CD....

And we're ready for the return ride over the bridge!!

And off we go..... to another bus stop!

.....and then over the bridge!!

Oh, I didn't know there was a pottery place in Fulham!!

Ooo that's a bit intimidating!!

Oh fancy!

That's the art deco bluebird building!

We found a murial!

Still think that's a bit fancy for a Pizza Express!!

that's a snazzy door though!

And we spotted a big sculpture with doggies!!!

We're at Hyde Park Corner here!!  We're getting off soon....

And we did, at the Hard Rock Cafe stop!!  We left a CD on a bicycle!

And another one on the railings of Green Park!

Then we walked down here past the Ritz.

We're going to Fortnum and Masons!!

They've got chocolate Bears!!  Bob would love one of those!

After we did our shopping (we'll show you later) we walked back to the bus stop - there's the Royal Academy entrance over there!!

Aha!  Here we are!!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!!  The number 38, last bus of the day!!!

We gave this bus a floppy disc....

And we got off at Victoria Station!!!  Time to go home!!

We used the facilities and gave them a floppy disc too.  Then we all washed our paws carefully....

And went and got our train as it was there waiting for us!!

And we're off!!!

And finally we arrived back at Hove Station!!!  Just a walk down the road....

And we're home!!!  We got some Kings Blend coffee and macadamia nut bis kwits from Fortnums.

And Andrea got a bubble bar from the Lush shop at the station.

What a fun day out!!
