We had a bit of a lie in today and then went out for a walk.
We ended up at Hove Train Station!!! Where are we going?
Bit damp here.....
Oooo that's Battersea Power Station over there!!
We're crossing the Thames!!
That's the back of the National Audit building.....
When we got to the station, we used the facilities and left a floppy disc on the door.
Now, we're off to get a bus now.
This is our stop.
BUS BINGO ALERT!! We got the number 11!!
We tied a CD to the rail.
Went past this little park.....
That's one of Queen Elizabeth corgi sculptures!! Oh I'm glad he's still there!!
We then past some interesting buildings too.
And then went over Westminster Bridge!
Big lion!!! RAAAHHHHRRR!
We got off at the last stop, at Waterloo Station!
We then had to walk somewhere we hadn't been to before! And spotted some interesting sculpture things on the way!
Oh there it is!!! That's the Royal Festival Hall there!!! Andrea says there's a free art expedition there. We like free.
That's the Millenium Wheel!!
Ooooo that's interesting!! That's outside the Festival Hall. We went in, and ...... the place was almost empty!! There was a chap at the information desk with two people asking him stuff.... well one was asking, the other was waiting to ask. We figured he'd know where this free expedition was. So we waited..... and waited ...... and waited...... and he was taking ages talking to the first chap. So we found a booklet that said the expedition was on level one. So where's level one? We found a lift (elevator) which went to level 2, 3 and 4 and also B for basement but no level 1. All the stairs were see through stairs with glass sides and we can't go up them because they make Andrea's vertigo wobble. So we went back to the info desk. The chap was talking to chap 2 now with two other people also waiting. The chap was talking....... and talking...... and talking.... and we'd been there about half an hour already and ........ so we gave up. No signposts, no useful info, no staff to help. Hmphff.
But we found some interesting benches on the way out!
Weird, but interesting!!
That one has the ends in the middle!
And that's another strange one!!
Back at Waterloo Station we found a decorated cable box!!
Then we walked down the road to find a bus stop for the next bus and spotted the Millenium Wheel again!
We've seen this sculpture from the buses!
And that one's outside St Thomas' hospital!
We had a bit of a wrong turn, and a longer walk than we expected but we finally arrived at the right place!
And the right bus stop for the next bus!!
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the 453 bus!!
They got a CD
Then we went back over Westminster Bridge
And we got off at Piccadilly Circus.
Then we had another little walk....... past some fabulous caykes!!
And then into the Royal Academy for lunch! We had a yummy hot sossidge roll with salad, a fizzy drink and a salted caramel choccie brownie. We would've taken a picture of the brownie, but we scarfed it so quickly Andrea didn't get a chance to take a picture. You'd have hated it though. Really, you would.
We used the facilities and left then a floppy disc.
And then it was back out off for another jaunt!!
First we popped into Fortnums to do some shopping.
They had pretty decorations up.
And Christmas trees too!!!
It's fun in here!!
After we did our shopping (we'll show you later) we spotted an interesting couple outside.
That's one of the windows at Fortnums.
Then it was back over the road to get the next bus.
BUS BINGO ALERT!! It's the number 38!!
They got a floppy disc
Then it was along past Piccadilly Circus
And then we got off here....
And went round the corner to get another bus!!
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the number 29!!!
They got a CD!
We went past Leicester Square...
And got off at Trafalgar Square
Then we doubled back a bit to the little art shop for more shopping (we'll show you later)
And then walked back to Trafalgar Square
We left a CD on a railing on the way!
And back to the bus stop for the next bus.
BUS BINGO ALERT!!! It's the number 24!!
They got a CD too!
There's Big Ben. We went over that bridge this morning!
And then we got off here.
It's time to go home.
We used the facilities again and left then a CD.
And then did a bit more shopping at Lush (we'll show you later) before getting our train home.
There's Battersea Power Station again.
Going over the Thames for the last time today.
We figured out how to tie a floppy disc to the table!!
It was raining when we came out of the train station....
But half way home, we saw a big giant rainbow!!!
Wowzers!!
There's almost a double rainbow if you squint hard enough!!
We got some coffee from Fortnums.
We got some khadi paper from the art shop
And Andrea got a bubble bar from Lush. She's weird.
But she does take us out for good trips out with good food, so we can't really complain.....
Excellent adventure!! And BINGO!!! That 453 got me the last corner. Hooray! I think that Bingo Card is done then? Horizontal, vertical, diagonal and all 4 corners? Right?
