Sunday 10 April 2022

A day out in London!!!

We got up really early today which is weird because it's a Sunday.  I was still asleep when we got to Brighton train station - and then I woke up really excited!  We're going somewhere!!!

We were going to get a really early train but it got cancelled because they didn't have a driver, so we got another one instead.  Andrea's friend Carolyn came too.

She brought Scooby snax for us.  We like her!

And we're off!!!  Where are we going?

Oh!!  London Bridge!  The train that got cancelled would've gone to Blackfriars, but this one is OK.

We managed to find a way out, and then had to find the actual London Bridge so we could get a bus.

We think we go down here.....

Ah!  There's the bus stop!  Behind that sign with the aliens on it.

There's that walkie talkie building!

Right ho, what bus are we getting?

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  The number 17!!!

We left a CD on the handrail!

Then we went over the bridge....!!

And we got off here, by St Pauls Cathedral!!!  The bells were sounding and lots of people were standing at the front with a chap in a long frock.  We think they were having an outdoor service.

So what bus are we getting now?

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  The number 11

We gave them a CD as well.....!

We went past the Royal Courts of Justice.....

And down past Big Ben.......

See?  There it is!!

That's Westminster Abbey!

And that's a fancy building!!!

Then we got off here.  What bus next?

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!!  We got the C1!!

We tied a floppy disc to this bus!!

There's pink blossom coming out on the trees now....

And there's Horrids!!!  We're going past Horrids!!!  Are we going shopping??

Nope - we got off here outside the V&A Museum!!!

There's pink blossom on these trees too!  It's pretty!

Because we were all starving hungry we decided to have lunch first, and came here to Pierino's.  Carolyn's never been here before.  She doesn't get out much.

We got the drinks in first - I got a fizzy drink and Carolyn got a glass of wine.

See?  Told you she got a glass of wine!  We got pizza too - I got a Nettuno pizza with tuna fish and onions and olives and other stuff and Carolyn got a completely different pizza with other stuff on it.  And extra olives.  Then we all stuffed our faces!!!!

On the way back to the V&A museum, we walked past this fancy doorway!

And left a blingy CD on a Santander bike.

And here we are!!!  Ready to go in and see what's what!

Ah yes, I remember that chandelier!!!

Isn't it fab!!

We even found a boar head for Sullivan!!!  (Don't worry, it's not a real one - it's made out of china and it's really old)

See - it's a tureen.  That's a big bowl that holds a load of soup, or something.
We had a good look round China and Iran and the Middle East and then looked at some fun clothing from the 1920s up to Vivienne Westwood punk stuff and then went round the gift shop.  (we'll show you later)

Then we went off to a bus stop.  We weren't too sure which one to get because Extinction Rebellion are camping out in Hyde  Park this week and having sit down protests in a different street every day blocking traffic.  We didn't know where they'd be today but thought it might be outside Whitehall or something.

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We got the 360 bus!!!

We left a CD tied to this one!

So where are we going now?

OH!!  We got as far as Sloane Square and then the driver said sorry, we're stopping here, there's another 360 waiting for you round the corner, but we couldn't work out which corner to go round to get it.  We finally figured out it was this one, but there wasn't a 360 bus there any more when we got there.  So we waited and waited and waited for another one.  When it turned up, it was going back to the Museums!!

While we were waiting we left a CD on the railing....

And then decided to get a number 11 instead!!!  The driver said there wasn't any disruptions on the route so we should be OK getting back.

They got a CD!!

And we're off!!  Where are we going now?

Oh hang on!  I know where we are now!!

OH!!  There's a load of protesters over there!!!

They were protesting the Ukrainian War though, outside Whitehall where Bozo the Clown Prime Minister lives.

There's LOADS of them!!

Loads and LOADS!

And even more here!!!

We eventually got off here at St Pauls Cathedral.  (we were going to get a different bus somewhere else but it never showed up.....!)

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!  We got the number 17 bus!!

They got another CD!!

And we're off.......

We're crossing over the Thames again!!  You can see Tower Bridge and a big boat!!

We got off at the very last stop which was London Bridge Station!!  We left a CD on a prongy bit of sculpture outside the entrance.

And then we found our train and got on!  they got a floppy disc!

And we're off!!

We're almost home.....

And we're home!!!!

Oo, they've jazzed up the piano!!

Not too long to wait for the bus either!  Excellent!

And left the last floppy disc of the day!!

When we got off it's just a short walk down here to get home.

OK - shopping.  We got a lemongrass and lime soap for Andrea.  She likes Barthing, she's weird.

And we got a woodblock for me!  It was the only round one left!

BIS KWITS!!!  YUMMMMMMMMMM!!

And some postcards too!
What a fun day out.....!
