Durer and burgers......

We had a day off today and decided to make the most of the decent weather before a nasty storm rolls in tonight.....

Which bus to get...?

Aha!  Here we go!!!  This bus got a CD!

Here we are!  The train station!  Excellent.... where are we going?

We used the facilities first and left them a floppy disc.  Then we washed our paws carefully.......
(Ed's note: this one's been claimed!)

And then it was time to get our train!!!  We got a window seat too!!!

They got a CD as well!!

Love this bit.......!

It's the Shard!!  But we didn't get off here though.....

We're coming into Blackfriars station here ....... but we didn't get off here either.

We got off here at City Thameslink!!!

We used the facilities here as well and left a floppy disc and washed our paws carefully afterwards

When we came out there was a number 11 bus waiting for us!!!  BUS BINGO ALERT!!!!

This bus was quite busy when we got on, so we had to stand some of the way, but we managed to tie a CD on the hand rail

Wonder where we're getting off.....

We got off at Trafalgar Square!!  It was really busy today too, now that a lot of the pandemic restrictions have been lifted.

We went over to the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery to see a Durer expedition!!!
The line at the entrance was REALLY long!!!

But we got in...... and went downstairs to see the pictures.....!

That's a lion but the perspective's a bit weird.....

Oh wow!!!!

There were lots of portraits here too.....

We really like this one, too!

We had a good look round all the pictures...... but it was very busy in there and we got a bit antsy about the covid risk so we decided to leave.  We used the facilities and left a CD on the door, washed our paws carefully and then went and perused the little gift shop upstairs.  (we'll show you later!)

So then we came back out onto Trafalgar Square....... it's a lot busier now than it was even six months ago.

We had a bit of time to spare before our lunch booking....so we pottered around a bit and left a floppy disc on a railing.....

And a CD on another railing!!

And then had a nose round an art shop!!  (we'll show you later!)

That lady's got a Moomin backpack!!!!!!!!!!

We put another CD on this railing too!
(Ed's note: this one's been claimed!!)

And then went for lunch here!!!  This place used to be a Byrons Burgers but it's a Gordon Ramsay place now.

What shall we have this time?

We got a refillable fizzy drink.

They got a glitter ball in here!!!

This time we had a JFC burger which is chicken with a rather spicy and very orange sauce on it and seasoned fries.

That was rather yummy actually - and VERY messy!!!!  We like this better than the OGR burger but not sure if we like it better than the bhaji burger.

After lunch, we went for a little stroll into Leicester Square.... can you see the chinese lanterns on that casino?!

We found a Harry Potter statue in Leicester Square - and we spotted a Mary Poppins statue and a "Singing in the rain while swinging round a lamppost" statue a bit further away.

There's supposed to be a Paddington Bear statue here too....... but it seems to have been replaced by a big puppy dog statue that a lot of children were sitting on and having their picture taken.

We walked off in search of the next bus stop and found lots of red lanterns hanging down this street!!!

And we ended up outside Foyles!!!

So.  What's the next bus we're getting?

Bus Bingo Alert!!!  The number 38!!!

They got a floppy disc, too!

Where are we going now??

Oh, that's the building in Bloomsbury Square - me and String walked past there last time we came up!

We spotted a strange looking building on the way......

And then we got off at Islington Green and started decorating the railings!!!

And went to see Bob's statue!!!!!

We gave him a CD to show off, too!!!

Love this memorial.....!

We did a bit more decorating here.....

.....and over here......
(Ed's note: this one's been claimed as well!!!)

.....and over here!!!!

And then went up to the bus stop to figure out which bus to get next!!!

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!!  Number 341!!

And we're off......

And arrived at this bus stop...... so what's next?

BUS BINGO ALERT!!!!  Number 17!!

They got a CD!

And we got off here, round the corner from Kings Cross Station!

There's the clock tower........

And it's time to go home...... what a fun day out!!!

We did a quick whizz in here to get supplies in for the Big Storm that's due in tonight.

We stopped here quickly too.  Gotta get them supplies in for the Big Storm that's coming tomorrow.

We quickly used the facilities and left them a floppy disc and washed our paws carefully afterwards and then it was time to go get our train.

And only had to wait seven minutes for the train!  That's handy!

We tied the last of our floppy discs to our handle.  Just as well we got on the train at this stop - it ended up so packed that some people had to stand!!!

We're going through Blackfriars station again......

......and coming into London Bridge station......

.....and going past Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral!

And we're back home!!!  Just need to get to our flat before The Big Storm tomorrow....

We didn't get the usual bus home, but there was a number 7 picking up people so we got that one instead and got off here.

We had to walk a little further to get to our street, but we got there in one piece!!

So here's our shopping!!  We got a pack of postcards, two fridge magnets and a keyring from the National Gallery - and they were all half price because it's nearly the end of the Durer expedition!

We got some khadi paper from the art shop to play with.

And Macadamia nut biscuits from Fortnums!!  Yummers!

More macarons to have for dinner tonight.

They were slightly mushed but still edible!!

And a cake because we have A Big Storm coming tomorrow.
Need to keep our strength up, you know.
