A short walk

After Andrea finished work today, she let me persuade her to take me for a walk because we haven't been out for MONTHS!!! So..... we left a book here along the road.....

And then left some CDs in Princes Crescent!!

We have an absolute LOAD of these piled up at home, so we needed to get rid of lose a few

Hope somebody finds these......

Then we walked up to Hove Museum and left another book on a tree stump on the street!

We left the last book underneath the wooden Indian Pagoda on the front lawn!!

Then we walked round the Museum gardens and left some more CDs!

After that, we made our way home and left another CD on a railing.....

And the last CD we left here!

It was glorious weather too.  For a change.

Remember I picked up this abandoned flower off the sidewalk the other week?  Rather dehydrated so I put him him water as soon as I got home?

Well he cheered up loads ....... but after a couple of days the top two buds collapsed and needed amputation.  But the other flowers thought that was a good idea though.

New bath taps!!

Three weeks ago, the cold tap on the bathtub stopped working.  First, when you turned it on, only a dribble of water came out and then when you turned it on, no water came out at all!  Last Friday the plumber came with new taps to put in!  (they had to give a quote to the landlord first, and then buy the taps)  

Now, here's the weird thing.  On most bathtubs, the hot water tap is on the left (closest to the sink here) and the cold water tap is on the right (next to the wall here).  My bathtub - nope.  Other way round.  Then when he got the side panel of the bath off, he found the hot water tap copper pipe leaked.  Tried fixing it - nope.   Put new pipe gizmo thing in.  Here's another weird thing.  The cold water tap copper pipe is in Imperial measurement pipe.  The hot water tap copper pipe (that's now a new pipe gizmo) is metric measurements.

But we have shiny new taps now and they both work a treat!!!!!

Currently in use stress relieving radox bubble bath and Kew Gardens lemongrass and lime shea butter soap.

Letter from Afar - Vietnam

I got another letter from Arntie Isabelle this week!!!

She's in the So'n Doong Cave in Vietnam!!!

It's an enormous cave that has a jungle and a river in it, and she's camping there!!!

Oh wow!!!

She sent me two more stamps for my colleckshun too!  The purpley brown one is an old American one and the green one is from the Dominican Republic!

Making a new hoodie.....!

Started off with red onion dyed cotton - a piece for the front....

And a piece for the back.

And a pouch pocket to go on the front.  Hemmed and starting the embroidery

Found flower

Found him on the sidewalk up the road from me looking rather sad and wilted.  Brought him home and immediately put in water...... didn't take long to look heaps better and happier!

Sandy Bear Mail!!!

We got another letter from Sandy Bear the other day!!!  He rescued me from a lonely existence in a log hut on a beach somewhere and brought me to England to live with Beanie!!

Sandy sent us some most postcards!!  That top red one, Sandy made himself with one of his photographs!!

They got the Sherlock Holmes 50p from the Case of the Missing Bullion!!  But they don't have a treasure chest to put it in.  That's not good.  I think Sandy's human should make him one.  It can't be that hard...... they've got loads of reclaimed wood lying about.

Treasure Chest and Pirate money!

We decided to check my Treasure Chest today to see how much spending money I've collected up!

There's LOADS!

This is a Casino Chip that we found on the pavement the first time I got taken to Amsterdam!!!

It's worth 100!!!  See?  I'm a rich mouse!

I got a matching key ring too!!

This is a 1 schilling Prater Wheel token that Andrea got in Vienna about a million years ago!

We found this in Amsterdam too, the second time we went there!

I've also got some Waitrose and Tesco tokens too!!

And some rusty washers!!!

I've got some wooden tokens....

And this is a Kuwaiti coin that I found outside Harrods!!!

These are UK coins that Andrea found on the pavement - all money found on pavements is automatically mine!!

Oh!  I got some pound coins too?  Brilliant!!

Those are American pennies.

And those are Euro coins!!  Andrea's got a load of those, I might sell them to her.

And I got a Canadian penny too!!!  Apparently those aren't made any more because they cost £6.73 to make and they're only worth a penny.

I've also got all these from all sorts of places like Romania, Poland, Philippines and Iceland!

I've also got a medal from the Royal Pavilion!

This one's a commemoration of the Battle of Britain in 1940!

Not sure about this one but it looks like a soldier carrying a wounded soldier to safety....

And this one is to do with the 1918 Representation of the People Act

And this one's swimming!

This one is to do with running but was minted in 2004 before we had the Olympics.  Andrea thinks it's to do with the four minute mile.

This one commemorates British composer Benjamin Britten!

This doesn't commemorate anything but it's different to the "normal" 50p which has Britannia in the middle!!

This one was produced in January 2020, to do with the UK's exit from the EU

And this one - which we got in our change a few days ago - is Paddington Bear!!!

We've got some fancy £2 coins too!!  These ones are Shakespeare ones  (the skull is poor Yorrick)

This one is a first world war "Your country needs YOU" coin!

This one's Florence Nightingale!

The one on the left is St Pauls Cathedral (end of world war 2) and the one on the right is Britannia.

This one relates to Trinity House which was set up by King Henry 8th to support Mariners!!!

Actually we found some more!!!  Andrea said I could put my collection in a proper coin album that she has and we found some more 50 pees!!!  This one is when we JOINED the EU in 1973 so we have both ends of our membership!!!  What fun!

This one is Andrea's first collected £2 coin and has a dove bird on it.  It's a bit fuzzy though.

That one we think commemorates the Bank of England.....

And this one is the Mary Rose which is King Henry 8th flag ship warship!!  That lives in Portsmouth Historic dockyard where you can go and visit it.  In fact, that's a good "pair" coin with the Trinity House coin that I've got!

Oh that cheers me up even more, knowing that I have "pair" coins!!!!
