Strange Award

Sullivan McPig just awarded me the Strange Men in Pinstripe Suits award from his blog

Aparently, this award is based on the release of Cate Gardner's short story collection, Strange Men in Pinstriped Suits. The book is available for pre-order and at a discount of $1.99 off of the cover price. To help celebrate this release, Cate and Strange Publications have a contest with two prize packages to choose from.

Strange Men in Pinstripe Suits award

The 'Strange Men in Pinstripe Suits' award is given to only the strangest of folk, and as the recipient of such you are deemed very strange indeed.

Now you must go forth and celebrate the strangeness of friends (and strangers - strangers are always allowed) by nominating blogs run by strange folk. *Beware, some people don't like you to refer to them as strange…Try to avoid them if possible.

Some rules:

1. Add the logo of the award to your blog post.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to you (don't mess with strange people).
3. Nominate seven other blogs telling us why you think the recipient is strange enough to deserve the award.
4. Leave a message for those nominated on their blogs.
5. And, if you email catephoenix(at)gmail(dot)com and tell her you've received the award for your strangeness, she'll enter you in the biggest kick-ass Strange Men competition ever. Details over at (click on the award link on the home page)
Now, seven friends who I think are a bit strange.... well now.
1. Dilly the Crocodragon has to be one.
2. Bob T Bear isn't as strange as Dilly, so he can be two!!
3. Urban Don is a bit strange but only because he makes steampunk stuff which is renowned as being strange!!!!!
4. Will the Wombat because he's a Wombat. I think he'd like to be Strange even if he isn't yet!
5. Errrrrrrr........
6. Ummmmmmmmmmm...
7. Errr uhhhhhhhhhh...

A day out in Shoreham

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Shoreham for the day with a friend of Andrea's. First of all, we lost an ATC on a lamp post!

then we had to drive over to Shoreham!!

After we parked the car, we went for a walk past this pretty church.

We even met a Famous Football player for the England team!!
He was telling me about a Cafe that he runs called Teddy's.

It's run by lots of Bears!!
Bob T Bear would love it here!!!

We started walking down a scarey bridge, but Andrea couldn't make it to the other side. She can't cross bridges where you can see through the sides.... she can't go up fire escape stairs either, because she can see through the stairs. It scares her, you see.

So instead we went back to see a Museum all about the fishing and boating industry in the area. It was really interesting!!

We saw this chap over the road!! he's funny!!

Then we went for lunch at Teddy's!! The food was YUMMY!!

After lunch, we drove over the river and went for a walk by the boats.

This one had flowers in it!

Those shutters are really pretty too.....!

We found another Muriel too!

We even saw some houseboats!! People live here!

and so does this cat! He was friendly!

There's another houseboat...!

then we went for a walk by the sea to do some scavenging.

It's WINDY!!!

I found a pencil and lost of drift wood and an oyster shell!

There's even plants that grow on stones!!!

Andrea's friend found a Wish Stone! That's a stone that has a hole through it - you write a wish on a piece of paper, roll up the paper and jam it through the hole in the stone and then throw the stone as far out into sea as you can. But if the paper falls out before it hits the water, it won't work.
I hope her wish stone comes true...

Then it was time to drive home!
What a lovely day out!

When we got home, Andrea showed me the lemon cake she'd bought at Teddy's!

We found so much drift wood on the beach today!! It'll be fun painting and carving stuff on it!

We even found a wish stone too!!
We'll have to write our wish on a piece of paper now!

We also found a shell to listen to!

Found Treasure!!

I've posted this on the other blog but it works just as well here, too!

I just noticed that this weathergram got found... and they left the most amazing comment all about it!! It seems I lost it during my trip to London for the Manga show at the end of May this year....

Which is posted here....

A Long Day in London!!

Yesterday, me and Andrea decided to go to London for the day.

So, we got the 9:51 train to London which was jam packed full of people!

Ah, here we are!! We then got 73 bus again!

I like travelling on 73 bus!

We even lost some art on it this time!!!

The bus had a diversion on the way, so we decided to get off at Euston Square. We then had to walk down that road on the other side!!

Here we are on Gower Street losing some more stuff!!!

Oh look! The guy that invented the steam train lived here!!
They have this thing on the wall all about him! That guy Brunel who has his own museum now, he invented the tunnels for steam trains to go in!

Some guy called Charles Darwin lived here. Andrea says he was very good with animals.
I like him already!!

RADA!! That's where actors learn to act!! Andrea said I could do my Shakespeare soliloquey and see if I pass the entrance exam.

Friends, Rodents, and Countrymice, Lend me your cheese.....
Did I get in?!

The preraphelite brotherhood lived here. Sex, drugs and rock and roll!!!!

Oh, we can tie another card here, excellent!

Oh, we've arrived!! Brilliant!!

my favourite seat!!!! and relax....!!!

Heres the Grand Court!!
where do we go now??

OH NO!!!! Maurauding skeletons!!
Run for your life!!

Egypt Mummies? Sullivan and Hammie talked about them.... let's go see!!

Oh gosh!!

Here's a hippo!! Sullivan likes Hippos!!

Mummified cats???!!

On the way back down, we met Buddha.

I don't remember that pretty building!

Me and Andrea got hungry so we decided to eat here.
They have Anatolian food.

Taboulleh!! I tried making this, but this taboulleh is much better than mine!!

and we finished off with a frothy coffee! I love frothy coffee!!

I tried riding a bicycle!! They have a new rent-a-bikes here in London now.

And then we stopped at our favourite art shop!!!

I played with the crayons while Andrea shopped!

And then we got the 10 bus to Kensington.

We tied another piece of art onto this bus too!! this one goes down to Marble Arch, the same as 73 bus, but then it goes along the side of Hyde Park away from Park Lane.

We got off here.

That's the Royal Albert Hall down there!!

We ties another weathergram here too!

Oh!! Museums!! Excellent!!

This is the Jamaican High Commission! It's a pretty building.

OH!! It's an android made out of plastic bottles!!!

Here we are!! The V&A museum!

I love that chandalier!!!

We went straight to the gift shop to do some more shopping and I met these mice!

Then we took the C1 bus back to Victoria Station. We still had a couple of hours before the train, so.....

We decided to have a stroll down here...

Oh! What's that tower thing??

Westminster Abbey??
Oh wow!! I've never been here before!!

Gosh, look at that!

I lost some more art on the way too!!

BIG BEN!! I know him!

Over the road from the Parliament buildings was this big protest against the war in Afganistan.
I don't like war.

They have snazzy lamps at Parliament!

And we saw the Millenium wheel too!!

I'm at the Thames!!

He's funny!!!

We were pooped by now so we got the bus back to the station...

and thought we'd try getting an earlier train home.

And we were allowed on too!! (we got cheap tickets but you have to book yourself onto a particular train, and you're not always allowed to get a peak time train on a cheap ticket)

Home again home again clippety plop!

This is some of the shopping we got!! Sketching pens, woodblocks of a ducky and a cat and some pastel crayons.

If anyone would like to try one of these, please tell me. They may get broken in the post but I'll wrap them as carefully as I can!!

And we got all these free things to make stuff with!!

And these too!! Whew, what a day!!
