Last Sunday...

Last Sunday lunchtime, we met up with Sullivan again outside the Metropole hotel on Brighton seafront.  We were going to visit a part of Brighton called the North Laines which is a very funky hippy shopping area with loads of fun shops to visit.  Along the way, we saw the end of a protest march against the culling (killing off) of badgers.  We like badgers!!  They're stripey like me!!!  (Farmers don't because they say badgers pass TB onto cows but can't really prove it, and in any case, there's a vaccine)  When we got to the North Laines, we saw someone had added some grafitti about it!!!

We also met an orange dog who had a pet mouse!!!

Later on, Sullivan gave me a fox head!!  Andrea says she's going to make me a new T-shirt with it sewn on it!!

Then we saw a zombie skull with the eyeballs hanging out!!!  We saw LOADS of bookshops in the North Laines and visited all of them!!  And I found two brilliant books for my friend Bob T Bear!!!

Then we found this shop with a dragon on it!

We walked back towards Sullivan's hotel through the Pavillion Gardens.  It's pretty here.

And we saw a man on a Unicycle juggling fire sticks!!!

and then we saw a brilliant cable box painting!!!

 Isn't it fab!!

We stopped for coffee on the way, and Sullivan met his cousin Mungo McPig who lives with us.  He was very happy!!
(and the chocolate cake was good too!)

 Slurp....!

Then we dropped off Sullivan at his hotel so he could leave his shopping in his room before going back to the Metropole for more Book Convention stuff!

We walked past this pretty gate too!

Sullivan gave me two buttons as well!!  Hmm, I wonder if Tango or Bob would like one...?

More cooking!!!

Well, since Sullivan was busy at the book conference on Friday, we decided to try some chocolate cupcakes.  So we mixed up all the dry ingredients with some cocoa powder.

 And 100g of unsalted butter!!!

and then mixed it all together.....!

Then we got  the milk, eggs and vanilla essence....

 and mixed them up.....

And then slowly mixed the wet bit in with the dry bit, mixing all the time..... it's tough work this mixing up!

 Aha!  There we go!!!

Then we spooned it all in to the cup cake tray.....

All done!  We can put that in the oven now!!!

While they were cooking, we made the icing.  That's icing sugar and cocoa but Andrea got the measurements wrong!!  it was supposed to be 75g icing sugar and 25g cocoa, but Andrea put in 100g of icing sugar!!!

And some more butter!!  Wonder if it'll work.....

We got the cupcakes out but they turned out gooey in the middle and they all sunk down a bit too!!!  OH NO!!

and when we put the icing on, it was drier than usual (because we got the measurements wrong!!!) but we though we'd try it out anyway.  Since we'd gone to the effort of making them!!!

But the toppers that Sullivan gave us were brilliant!!!!!

 Black sheep and Santa, too!!!

and then we tried one out.  Hmm.  Soggy sunken cupcakes and dry icing that make you swing from the ceiling on a sugar fix.  Hmm.....!!
We could always make some more....!!!

And then on Thursday.....

On Thursday morning, we went down to Sullivan's hotel to meet them after breakfast.  We saw this interesting gate on the way.

then we saw some funny pictures!!

 And this one as well!!!

Sullivan needed to go up to the shops on the main road, so we showed them where everything was and then walked to the Pier.  We found some new cable box designs on the way!!!

And then had a quick look at the Pavillion!!

And then went to the seafront!!  It was very blowy again today, too!!!

Oh here we go!!  Sullivan wanted to play the arcade games so we went in.....

And got some 2p coins and went on the arcade games!!!!

OH!!  Here we go!  Blue Spiders!!!!

 WE WON!  WE WON!!!

WE WON AGAIN!!!!  Oh this is brilliant!!

Then we went on another arcade game and won a sparkley key chain!!!

and THEN on ANOTHER arcade game, we won a note book in a Union Jack cover on a key chain!!!
Sullivan had that one so he could write his travel diary in it.

Then we had a look round the rest of the Pier.

and saw some funny cow legs table!!!  Hahahaaa!!

Then we walked back into town and stopped for coffee.

 and saw some more grafitti.....!!

 ....on buildings too!!!

We stopped at the Cinema to use the toilets and afterwards we met a rat selling cakes for charity.  Sullivan donated money to take photos!!!

And then, on the way to the Book Convention, we saw these ones too.

We dropped Sullivan off at the Metropole Hotel where the Book Convention is at lunchtime.  He's going to be very busy collecting autographs until Sunday.  We'll meet up with him again Sunday afternoon for Another Adventure in Brighton!!!  How fun....!!

Guess what happened last Wednesday?!?!!

Last Wednesday, Andrea came home from work all excited!!!  She grabbed hold of me and said come on, we're going into Brighton to meet somebody!!!  Oh!!

We went down to Poole Valley Coach Station.  (Those lights in the distance are the Brighton Pier lights)  It looks a bit creepy in the dark, but Andrea said it was important to be here.  But why?  It's windy....

A few minutes later, a bus arrived from Heathrow Aiport - and Sullivan McPig was on it!!!!!
We got a taxi to the hotel they were staying at, and then waited while they booked in and took the bags up to their room!!!

Then we got blown along the seafront to Harry Ramsdens Famous Fish and Chips shop because it was late and we were all starving.  We made a rubber stamp specially for Sullivan's passport!!

Sullivan brought some presents for me too!!  We got a butterfly jelly mould.....

and some brilliant stickers and ribbons!!!  (we've used some of these already!!)

 And some cake toppers!!  Brilliant!!

And we got a Skull lollipop and a Piggy Bank!!!!  BRILLIANT!!

Then we all got fish and chipps for dinner and stuffed our faces!!!
After that, we walked Sullivan back to the hotel and then came home...... what fun!!
