Beanie's Found Art Workshop Part One A

I also remembered that when you look for things on the sidewalk (pavement), sometimes you can Hit The Jack Pot, and find things like CDs (although they're usually broken)

This picture is taken from here....

http://found-art.blogspot.com/2009/09/i-did-more-shlepping.html

And if you do something like this, you'll need to buy a Tub Of Gesso from the Art shop. You'll also need some ribbon or raffia to hang it up with when it's finished, and if you want to glue stuff on the CD, it's best to use All Purpose Glue.

We've also found Flip Flop shoes outside!!!

http://found-art.blogspot.com/2009/09/shoes-2.html tells you how we decorated them!
Again you need Tub Of gesso for this!

Beanie's Found Art Work Shop, Part One.

How To Make Found Art. OK, the first thing you need to do is collect up a bunch of stuff to use to make stuff with. You can find all sorts of free stuff on the sidewalk - like elastic bands, hair ties, used train tickets, used movie tickets, candy wrappers, yellow plastic "wet paint" tape, rings, washers, broken padlocks, earrings, pendants that fell off necklaces.
You can also use stuff like mashed up wrapping paper, too, and sugar wrappers and those little salt and pepper thingies from restaurants. And paper napkins too, specially if they've got stuff printed on them!!
Me and Andrea have a little plastic bag that we take out on walks with us, so that anything we find on the sidewalk, we can put in the bag to take home with us!

You'll also need some paper and card. I find that empty cardboard boxes are good, and card from the inside packaging is good, and those brown paper bags with handles that some shops put stuff in for you, they're good too. You can also use restaurant take-away menus, and what Andrea says is called Junk Mail, those advertisement things that get shoved through your letter box. They're good for found art!
To give you an example - yesterday when me and Andrea went to London, we got COMPLETELY FOR FREE 3 paper bags, a cardboard box, 2 shop receipts, printed cards (enough to make 6 standard postcards), 2 elastic bands and a hair tie (found on floor) and also, we liberated a sheet of part used "Special Offer" stickers!!!

Some other things you'll need but may have to purchase.... Glue Stick, Paint, Paint Brushes, Crayons, Holographic Sticky Tape (hard to find), rubber stamps, ink pad (any colour), stapler (not shown) and scissors (not shown) and sometimes a craft knife (not shown) can be handy, too. And a hole punch! The one I have here punches out a Maple Leaf, and you can get loads of other shaped ones too, but if you have already one of those "punch two round holes for a two ring binder" hole punches, that'll work just as well for now!

Now, if you would like to go and Find Some Stuff To Make Stuff With, I shall show you in my next WorkShop, how to make an Origami Envelope, a Card to Fit the Origami Envelope, A Tag and An Artists Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beanie had a Day Out!!

Today, Friday 26th, Andrea said she had Day Off and was taking me out Shopping!!
How exciting!! We had brilliant weather to go Out Shopping!
We got a Table Seat on a train!! Where are we going?? (and do I look cleaner after my nightmare with a Washing Machine??!)

OH!! London again! Andrea says we're getting Bus 73 again!!

We got a Window Seat too! I love watching from a bus!

WHOA!! Wait, this isn't the British Library!!! We stayed on the bus too long!!

Oh! Andrea says we're going down here??
Why?

It's an Art Shop!! I love Art Shops!!!

We did lots of shopping here, and on the way out, we saw that someone had lost a glove on a railing. So I decided to Lose a Shlepped CD too, to keep the glove company!!

We sat in the park (the one that I showed you earlier) and packed away shopping in Andrea's backpack! Andrea says I can have the Zigzag thing to play with, and she also got me Free Card that I can use!

We then got another bus....

We went past this building which had Three Wheat Sheaves at the top. I wonder how they got up there....?

Lots of people drove past us. I waved at all of them, but these guys didn't wave back.
Miserable, aren't they?!

We got off at Great Russell Street, and Andrea spotted these signs at Bedford Square.
They said "Good Morning Capitalism" and "Always a Frown with Gordon Brown". Andrea said it was to do with Budget which happened yesterday.
Oh.

Then we noticed that Bedford Square had been completely taped off with blue and white Police "crime scene" tape!!!! And there were two Policemen on each corner of the square!!
WHAT HAPPENED???!!

Then we noticed (in between the traffic - it was difficult to get a proper picture because there were so many buses!) that there was a Big White Tent at the other end of the square!! It's that white bit you can just see through the bus window.... Andrea put an arrow pointing at it.

You can just about see it here too... Andrea says those tents are put up over Dead People by Police Scenes of Crime Officers!! (They're like Crime Scene Investigators. In England, they're called Scenes Of Crime Officers, or SOCO for short. Do the same stuff as CSI)
How exciting!! I've seen my first ever Crime Scene!!! In the middle of London!

We then went down Great Russell Street to do some more shopping. In my favourite art shop!

After that, we wandered round a bit deciding what to do next...

We saw this blue sign up! I wonder if I'll ever have one of those? Beanie Mouse Lived Here, Artist, Novellist, Opera Singer, Traveller.....

Then we got another bus ticket!

Back to Victoria Station! We even got here in time to get an earlier train home!
Brilliant!

On the train, Andrea showed me what she bought in the second art shop. She got some more sketching pens for my scrapbook, and some empty paint tubes so we can make some more oil paint! And we got a Free Box to put them in, too!!

Here we are, on the way home....

Back to Hove Station!!
What a lovely day out!

Beanie Had A Bath!!

Well, today Beanie had his First Official Proper Wash in a washing machine. He hated the idea at first and was seriously scared when he went in the machine with all those smelly clothes of mine. I swear I could hear him squeaking "Help!! Let me out!!"

However, now that he's home, he's running round the apartment, mouse-assed nekkid, burping bubbles and squeaking hysterically!!! Bob the Bear will be pleased to hear that I suspect Beanie's even trying to FART bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, he wanted me to tell you that, since a few people have asked how to make found art, he's worked out some On Line Work Shops for you guys to follow. We're going to be busy the next couple of days with visitors, but hopefully on Sunday, Beanie will be able to post about What You Need to Make Found Art!

Beanie's Passport!!

This is my passport page from my trip to Lille in France!
I have the French postage stamp that we got at the Post Office, and the rubber stamp that Andrea got at Loisir et Creation at EuraLille!!!
I love my passport!!!

We went for a Walk!!

Last weekend, we went for a walk along Sea Front, because the sun was out.
I wore my new Waist Coat!!!

We took some cards to lose, and put this one on the life saver float.

Then we found this plank of wood! Andrea said it was too big to take with us, so we left it there.
Would be fun to shlep it with gesso, though!!

Then we left a weathergram on one of the beach huts!

We saw lots of cones laid out in lines. Andrea said it was for Skate Boarders to skate through.
We watched them for a bit - it's like Smurf Boarding only on wheels!!

We put another weathergram on this beach hut too!!

Then we noticed that someone had painted over the stickers on the Art Pole!!
OH NO!! I hope someone has new stickers to put on it....!

There was lots of seaweed on the beach too, and lots of seagull feathers and shells.

Then we spotted lots of black and yellow tape blowing in the wind. Apparently, someone had been painting the railings and they were "Caution, wet paint" tape labels. Andrea helped me liberate some tape to use in Making Stuff!!!!!

We tied this card to a piece of red tape!

Andrea showed me the Peace Angel Statue near the old West Pier.
I like him!!

We spotted this sticker on a lamp post!

And then we waved at this cat in the window!!!
He seems friendly!!

Yup, we can tie another card here, can't we!!

And Bicycle baskets are perfect for tying things onto!!!
I love losing things on bikes!!

Then we went into the Internet Cafe and caught up with Hammie and Hammo....

And Coco and Sullivan!! Oh good, they got my package from Lille!!

On the way home, we saw this picture of a dog in a suit!
That's funny!!

Oh yes, we can tie a CD to a tree!! That looks pretty there!

Further down the street, we met Cat!!!
He miawed at us so we stopped to have a chat with him.

And he even came and gave me a big Hug!!!
I love Cat!!!
(Well, I love this cat, he's friendly!!!)
When we got home, we got out the yellow paint tape and the red and white tape, and the elastic band and hair tie that we found. What can we do with these, then...?
