Expeditions and shopping!!

Today Andrea said we're going out for the day!!!

So we all traipsed up to the bus stop and got on a bus.....

...to the train station!!!

We didn't have to wait long to get on our train!

We got a window seat and tied a floppy disc onto the seat in front!

And we're off!!!

We love this view.....

We're crossing the Thames river!!  We're in London!!

So...... we're outside the station.  Where next, Jeeves?

Off to this bus stop to get the number 11 bus!!!

We didn't have to wait long - and they got a CD!

There's Westminster Abbey there!

And that's the side of the Supreme Court on Parliament Square!!!

Posh, innit?!?!

Then we turned onto Whitehall and that's Horseguard's Parade!!!

Two of them!!!

Then we got off at Trafalgar Square!!

That's the National Gallery over there!!!

You can just about see Big Ben down there!!!

Panda Bear!!!

We're going to see an expedition!!!

'
We got a ticket for half price (excellent!) to go see some paintings by a chap called Sorolla.  He's Spanish and an Impressionist painter.  We've never heard of him but loads of other people have and the expedition was really, really busy.  Not so busy that we couldn't see the paintings, but busy enough that we had trouble moving from one picture to another...... we think it's one of those shows that you need to arrive first thing in the morning and be the first one in.  You'd have the space to enjoy it then.  But we're glad we went - some of his paintings we thought were bordering on realist but some of them (the outdoor ones) were a lot like Renoir!

We used the facilities before we left and gave them a CD and then went and spent some money in the gift shop (we'll show you later!)

Then it was off for lunch because we were STARVING!!!

First of all we did a spot of shopping in this art shop! (we'll show you later!)

And then left another CD on this railing!

We found a telephone box that still had a telephone in it, and left a bookcrossing book in it!!!

And THEN we found a Byrons Burgers place for lunch!!!
HURRAAAYYY!!
(we've not been in this particular one before.....!)

We chose our own table and got a fizzy drink and perused the menu

We got two of their business cards!!!  One each, hurrah!

BYRON BURGER AND FRIES!!!!
HURRAAAAAAYYYY!!

We left one of our floppy discs in here too!

The it was off to the bus stop to go somewhere else!!!

We got the number 24 bus next and they got a CD as well!

Where are we going now?

We got off here at Tottenham Court Road!  Then we had to cross the road and go down Great Russell Street

And we went to another art shop!  We went in and spent some more of Andrea's money too!
(we'll show you later!)

We had a walk round Bedford Square and left them a CD....

And then left another bookcrossing book.....

And tied a blingy CD on the railings too!!!

Then it was back to the bus stop for another bus ride!

We got a number 14 this time and they got a floppy disc!

This road's really busy.....

OH!!  Our mate Ben has a chip shop in London now!!!
I didn't know that!

Ooo, there's a mini market down there!!  Looks like it's all clothing!

We went past Chinatown too!!  Wow!

I really like those lanterns!!!

OOO a lion!

We got off here at Piccadilly!  That's the Royal Academy over there!!

Heinz is 150 years old???

Like, Heinz of Heinz tomato soup??

BEANZ MEANZ FARTZ!!!!
HAhahahahhaaaaaaaaaaa!!
Wish Bob T Bear was here......

Oh!  We farted outside of Fortnums!!!!
HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA!

After a spot of shopping (we'll show you later!) we got another bus!

We gave that bus a CD too!

And we're off!!

....back to Victoria Station!!!

We had a bit of time before the train so we left a floppy disc on this end of the park.....

....and another one on the other end of the park!

And then it was time to go home!  We got a window seat again!

This train got our last CD!

There's Battersea Power Station over there!

We're crossing the river again!

That's the South Downs in the distance!!!

We're just coming into Brighton now, and you can see a train going over the viaduct!!!

When we got off the train, we spotted a manhole cover we hadn't seen before!!!

....and then we were off to get a bus home!!

We didn't have to wait long.....

They got our final floppy disc!!

And then it was just a short walk home!

Oh - we found a penny on the pavement in London!  That's mine!

We got a book of postcards from the expedition!

That picture was our favourite - it was enormous too, about 6 feet by 8 feet big!

This painting was really clever too!  It's a building reflected in a pond with a fountain in the middle!!!

We also got a tub of chocolate chip cookies!!!
YUM!!!

From the first art shop we got some black printing ink.  We're running out of that so we needed some more.

From the other art shop, we got a piece of lino, some ink cartridges, a watersoluble graphite stick and a pack of watersoluble graphite paste!
WATERSOLUBLE GRAPHIT PASTE?????  We have no idea how to use that but it'll be fun finding out!

And finally, we got some more coffee because we're getting a bit low of coffee.
Andrea does like her coffee first thing in the morning....!

  1. Whoa... that was quite the trip. I looked up Sorolla - he seems to do a lot of beach and water images - very nice. Must say... the Bryon's Burger left drool marks on the keyboard... slurp!
