Dying with red onions......

That's fabric dying, to those that know!!!  The above three are pieces of silk...

Interesting, huh?!?!

This piece of silk had previously been dyed with turmeric - you can see see patches of yellow!

This piece had also previously been dyed with turmeric.   There's yellow patches at each end.

This is a big piece of cotton.  It had previously been dyed with red onions, so this is a "Double dose" for it.

That's the other end....

The red is stronger one end than the other ....... and I think some of the turmeric has transferred from the silk onto it, in the middle

Special package!!!

We got a special package today!!  It's got a cat on the front!

And paw post stamps!!!  I remember those!!!

OOOOOooooooo!!  Oh look at this!!

The hare card was a thank you note - we bought something from Arnty Helena's etsy shop!

It's tied up with string and sealing wax!!!

And we got an envelope full of arty fun!

How brilliant!!

Finally we opened the little package

We found a little green bag!!!

It's a set of runes made out of willow!!!  Oh brilliant!!!

And there's a chart of all the runes and what they mean!

We can put that in my Little Rune Box with our other bits....

Mail from Sandy Bear!!!

We got a letter today - it's from Canada!!!

Sandy Bear has been clearing out his postcard stash again!!!  One of these is from Banff - that's in Scotland, isn't it???

There was a long message on the back....!

Letters from afar - Turkey

I got a letter today addressed to ME!!

It's another letter from afar, from Arntie Isabelle on her latest travels!!

Wonder where she's gone now?

Cappadocia in Turkey!  Oh how exciting!  She's living in a cave and taking hot air balloon rides!!

Oh wow!!!

And she sent me more stamps for my colleckshun!  The red one is a Hungarian stamp and the brown one is English!!!

Funky yarn!!

We got another package today.......

And it had some proper funky yarn in it!!

Oh we'll have fun knitting stuff with this!!!

We got a package yesterday!  With lots of stamps on it!

A box of muesli?  We got a box of MUESLI?

We got a little package the other day.....

It was some smelly samples that we got for free from Valentte!

We got a Verbena & peppermint smellie, a Jasmine & rosewood smellie and a lavender smellie!

How fun!!  We tried the Jasmine one already and it's really nice!

We got a card!!

I got a card in the mail today!!!   I haven't had mail for AGES!!!

It's from Canada!!!

And it's got mice all over the envelope!!!

Even on the back!!!

It's got a lovely picture of a waterfall on the front!  I like that!

And it's addressed to me Jelly and Tango - and Andrea's a sidekick!!!!
