New Passports!!!

Yesterday we all had our pictures taken!!!  First it was me.....

And then String Beanie......

And then Jelly Beanie!
But why??

Well, after a bit of research to check dates of birth (or, rather, dates of being found!) and a bit of writing and painting, we were all presented with brand spanking new Passports!!!

That's me!!!

"That's Mine" says Jelly Beanie!!!

"And I got one as well!" said String Beanie!!!
Huzzah!!

Screaming in London!!!

Andrea didn't have to go to work today so me and String Beanie went out somewhere!  We put Tango and Jelly Beanie in charge of the house.

And we're off up the road!

Right then - we're waiting for a bus are we?

We got on a number six bus and gave them a CD!

...and arrived at the station!

We didn't have to wait long for our train and we got a window seat!

They got a CD too!

Love this view....

Oooo - there's Battersea Power Station over there!!

You can see the towers in here!!!

We're crossing the Thames!!

We came off the train and met up with Arnty Kirsty - we're all going on an art expedition together!
First we had to go to the Underground thing to get another train!!

Here we are .......!!

We got off at Tottenham Court Road!  That's the expedition we're going to!!

When we came out of the Underground, it was a short walk here, the British Museum!  String Beanie's never been here before.....

We're going to see the Scream picture!!!  AND we got in half price with our art pass card!

This expedition had lots of lithoprints and woodblock prints - we didn't know Munch did those!

Some of them were a bit odd.....

This one's called the Acid Thrower, which he made in 1894!

This one is called "Jealousy II" from 1896, and it's of Munch's friend Przybytzewski who was murdered by a jealous admirer!!

And that's the famous Scream picture!  Apparently that bridge and lake really exist
and it's where Munch's sister was hospitalised.

This one's another weird one - it's a mother with her baby who inherited syphillis at birth!

This one is representational of Munch's reaction to the death of his mother when he was five years old.....

That one's a theatre programme cover that Munch designed!  We didn't know he did that!

That one's called TingleTangle and it's about a Berlin cabaret show!!

And we all recognised this one!!!  It's a Toulouse Lautrec print of an American dancer at the Folies Bergere, from 1893!!

And that was one of three prints in the final room!
That was really interesting!!

After that, we had a good look round the gift shop and bought some goodies!  (We'll show you later!)

Then we all went down the road to Tas!  We love it in here!!

First we got some olives and bread with a yummy dip!

And then we got the drinks in!  They gave us water as well because it was hot and muggy today.

We had a starter of Taboulleh salad!  Yum!

Then we got a chicken shish with couscous!  We were totally stuffed after that!
Arnty Kirsty got a prawn casserole dish with more Turkish bread and stuffed her face as well!!

Then when the bill came, we got four pieces of Turkish Delight!!!  One for me, one for String Beanie, one for Andrea and one for Arnty Kirsty!!!!!  Splendid!!

After that, Arnty Kirsty had to head off to the train station again because she was getting an earlier train home, so we walked her back to Tottenham Court Road so she knew how to get back.  Then we walked back to our favourite art shop for a look see!

They got some good stuff in here - we'll show you what we got later!

We left a CD outside too!

then we walked down Tottenham Court Road and saw a funny face on a building!  Can you see?!?!

It's funny!

We saw some interesting carvings too!

we gave them a CD too!

Then we stopped in Foyles!!  We'll show you what we got later!

Then we crossed the road to get a bus.

We got a number 38 and gave them a CD!

We went past Chinatown and saw a silver snakey thing on a building!

And then we got off here outside the Royal Academy!

We decided to have a wander round as we had plenty of time before our train home.

We got as far as Piccadilly Circus!

They got posh buildings round here!

CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(We'll show you later!)

OH!  There's that Film and TV place!

Then we decided to get another bus....

We got another number 38!

We're going past Green Park here!

And we got off here and had another walk around!

We put a floppy disc at this end of the park.....

And a CD at the other end of the park!

And we found Little Ben!!

And a posh church tower!

And some rainbow stairs!!!

Then it was time to get back to the station to get our train!

We used the facilities first......

And then got our train!!!  It was delayed a bit because somebody dropped a suitcase on a train track but we only left five minutes later than scheduled, so it wasn't too bad!

There's Battersea Power Station over there!

We're crossing the Thames again!

And there's that funny picture!

There's the South Downs!!

We're almost home!!

Here we are at Brighton Train Station!

AND there's a bus waiting for us!

....and then it's a short walk down here.....

.....leaving our last floppy disc here!

After Andrea had a bath because she was all sweaty and bleugh, we got our shopping unpacked.  These are the postcards we got from the museum!

We got three sheets of marbled papers from the art shop!

And we got some new passports from Foyles!!!  Mine is really old and it might have expired already.  Besides, we're leaving the EU soon so we'll probably need a new one.

AND we got some dark chocolate covered chestnuts from the chocolate shop!
YUMMM!
What a fun day out!!!
