Beanie At The Manga Show, Day Three and Prizes!

Monday was our last day at the youth hostel!!!
We had another early breakfast of toast and jam, cornflakes and coffee!!!

Then we had to pack up and move out!!!

Just as well we left early though..... it wasn't a bank holiday last Monday like it usually is (we have two extra days next week because of the Queen) so all the buses were packed solid with commuters!!!  One of them didn't even bother stopping, it was so full up!!
Eventually, we managed to get on one back to the station!!

Here we are about to go over the Thames!!!

There's the Houses of bastards Idiots again.....

We got off at the side entrance of Victoria Station, because that was closer to the platform we had to get to!
Good idea Batman!!

And we still had time to spare before the train left!!
Excellent!!!

And we're off.....

And then we got off and walked home!  (it only takes us ten minutes!)

I got another stamp in my passport too!  I love my passport!!!

Andrea showed me the shopping she bought at the Manga show!  She got a Steampunk radio show CD...

And a Steampunk ring!  Wow!

Now for the freebies!!  If you'd like a chance to win any of the following items (starting with the DVD shown above) then leave a comment on this post.  I'll announce all the winners on Sunday 10th June.
The first item up for grabs is a Anime DVD of "Astro Boy" - this will ONLY PLAY ON EUROPEAN MACHINES!!

The second and third items are two DVDs that are exactly the same, so two people can sign up for this.  Anime DVD "The Movie Eurekan", again this will ONLY PLAY ON EUROPEAN MACHINES.

Now, the next four items are Manga books...... we found a very good deal on a traders stall where if we bought two books, we got another two for free, so out of the following four books, pick TWO ONLY that you'd like to read starting with the above, "Red Hot Chili Samurai vol.1".
First come first served on this deal.
(I don't mind which two are regarded as the "free books" so pick any two!!)

2nd choice, "Demon Diary, vol 2"

3rd choice "Fate Stay Night vol 8"

and fourth choice "Future Diary, vol 10".
I may re-offer the other two once I've read them, so watch this space!!!!

This book is a separate offer from the others - it's actually a left over freebie from last years' Manga show of which I got several copies and this is the last one left.
It's a selection of chapters from five other books as a "Taster Pack".

And Finally, this is a left over freebie from a Manga Show from two years ago - front of folder - and it contains 4 discs for a Playstation (believed Sony) and I think they're all the same game.

You can either ask for one of the discs only, or the whole lot and give some away to your friends, I don't mind which!
So..... hope you enjoyed the little trip and good luck on the prize draw!!

Beanie At The Manga Show, Day Two!!

On Sunday morning, we got up early for breakfast!  We had cornflakes, toast with jam and Very Strong Coffee!!!

Then we were off out investigating!!

First of all, we went to Rotherhithe Subway Station to go two stops to Shadwell....

Which is here, and then we had to change to the Docklands Railway over there!!

We got another train that went next to the Thames through a part of East London called Docklands!!

Gosh!!

That's the O2 Arena over there where all the big famous bands play!!

We got off here at Royal Customs House!

We came to the Manga Show!!!!!

We got there a little early so we were given a Goodie Bag and waited in line until they let us in.
We didn't get much in the goodie bag this year (last year we got loads of stuff!) but Andrea said don't worry, some people ditch the goodie bags altogether so we might be able to pick up a few more on our way to the Exhibition Hall!!
She was right, we did!!!

When we got in, we found that the Steampunks were back again this year!!
They had some steampunk spiders in a glass dome!  Spooky!

They even let me ride a bicycle that had blaster rockets on it!!!!

We did a bit of shopping and then decided to head off somewhere for lunch.
We saw these hula hoopers outside!

And a chalk drawing too!!

Isn't that fab?!

Here we are on our way to Canning Town!

Demolition??  Where?!

Oh!!  They're knocking down the Tidal Basin Tavern!!  I wondered if they might be doing that - it's been derelict for a couple of years now.  Probably won't be there next year....

There's that O2 place again!

At Canning Town Bus stop, I left a card on the information thing!!
We then got a subway to Canada Water....

And then got a bus....

To Cutty Sark and Greenwich?
What's that??

OH!!  There's a big boat!!
Andrea says that's the Cutty Sark!!

But first of all, we were both really hungry and thirsty so we stopped for lunch.

We had a huge Romana Pizza that was fabuloso!!!
We ate it all, we were so hungry!!

Then we went investigating!!  There's Museums down there...

And that's the Cutty Sark!!  It's a Clipper Ship that sailed to India and China to collect tea for England, and it has a very special hull (that's the bottom) that's a weird shape but it makes the boat sail very fast.  It's the only Grade One Listed Boat on the planet, and the only Clipper Boat left anywhere.  They just finished renovating it last month...... and nearly lost the boat completely to a very bad fire a few years ago!
I'm glad it's still here though....!

This is the entrance to the Royal Navy somethingy Museum.... There's quite a lot of Museums here that I couldn't remember all the names of!!  But it's very pretty.....

fancy buildings, eh?!

And funny fish!

That's the National Maritime Museum!

And it's got two big anchors by the entrance!!
Then, we wanted to go see the Greenwich Market which is nearby, and on the way discovered that half of London had come to Greenwich today too and it was SERIOUSLY BUSY!!!  So since we don't like enormous crowds when it's very hot, we decided to go back to Canada Water instead....

So we got the bus back....

To Canada Water and saw that we could get two buses back to Rotherhithe.
Hey!  The 47 bus goes to Liverpool Street!  That's where Bob and Dilly get the train to when we meet them in London!  They can come and play on the Brunel Train!!

Then we got the 381 bus back.....

We stopped off at a grocery shop and got some bottles of fruit juice and sat here for ages drinking them.
I love it here, it's so quiet and peaceful!

Then we came back to the hostel for a shower and a rest before dinner!
Then we decided to go back to that Mayflower Tavern for dinner.  They had a sign outside that said they do dinner on Sundays until 9:30 p.m. but when we asked at the bar, they said the kitchen was closed!!!
OH NO!!!!!

But then Andrea remembered this place just down the road!!!  It's a little restaurant called Simplicity - we ate here last year, so we went in there for dinner instead!!!

And I'm so glad we did!!!  We had pan fried Scottish Salmon on crushed new potatoes on top of peas and carrots in a seriously yummy sauce and was FAB!!!!!

We even had a pudding too!!  We had a Rum Baba cake with cream and raspberry coolie.  The raspberry was a little too sharp for us, but we ate all the cake and cream though!!!!!

Then we walked back to the hostel and watched the sun go down!!!
Gosh, that's pretty!!

That's the Shard building over there.....

Wow, I'm pooped.... what a fun day!
